Did anyone else see the video of that object flying into the sun and exploding? Any comments on this? I am rather new to the field of astronomy and do not know the level of occurance of an event of this magnitude and thought it might lead to explanation of the disruption of data collection on the various sites that monitor the Sun at all times.
Any thoughts?
Visually, the object appeared to cause an influx when it hit.

I don't think that any of us can say for certain if anything will happen come Sunday, but I do know that the what MJ and others have put together make some very interesting points. I think that most likely nothing will happen, but I won't be in any kind of shock if something does happen. All I know is that if the planet goes dark for 3 days, I think this will turn organized religion upside down, but I'm sure they will find a way to spin it for their benefit.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see, if nothing happens on Sunday, I don't think anything will happen on 2012. |

Well Winter Solstice is here, and Sweet FA has happened! Quelle Surprise. Still 23rd is 'supposed' to be the big day - for some unknown reason.
Let's get the 23rd out of the way and we can start all the crap about knowing that 2007 wasn't the year, it's really 2012.
Has anyone started on the post 2012 theories yet?

This year, in late December 2007, when the sun is entering the sign of Capricorn the moon will be entering the seventh solar house from the sixth solar house, opposite Capricorn, in the moon's own sign of Cancer. When the moon is entering the seventh solar house there is a full moon, as the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides, but are aligned with each other.

Astrology is based upon synchronicity, not deterministic causality, on sympathy, not action. That scientists shrink back from studying the uncontrollable dark side of nature does not mean that it does not exist. It only means that science has a blind side when it comes to studying nature!
