I completely agree. I started off by registering as a Democrat when I was 18. After years of working my ass off to put myself through college and then graduate school and then seeing people take advantage of all the social systems out there (example, food stamps, public assistance, etc.) I registered as a Republican.* Today, I am neither. I hesitate to even call myself an Independent because it too is becoming amost a party with peolple of a certain political bent calling themselves this. I tend to be liberal in many of my views, but staunchly support our rights to be armed. Hell, we don't know when we are going to need to defend ourselves from our own government, the way things are going. I am so sick of being lyed to by politicians in general, I have become really jaded and cynical.

There was a time when I thought my vote made a difference. I don't know anymore. With all the shenanigans that went on during the last election and all the corruption on both sides of the aisle, I feel abandonned and betrayed by my country's own political system. I know a lot of other callers to talk radio say they feel the same way.

* This reminds me- I heard a joke once, "What is the diffrence between a Democrat and a Republican? A Republican is a Democrat that's been mugged"
