Wis. soldiers to prepare for deployment to Iraq

Soldiers in Wisconsin were told to prepare to deploy to Iraq over the weekend.

Wisconsin’s Army National Guard’s 32nd Brigade Combat Team "will have a security force mission and be assigned tasks which will assure freedom of movement and continuity of operations in the country," according to the Department of Defense.

The three National Guard brigades are scheduled to begin deployment in 2009. They were given alert orders now in order to provide them the maximum time to complete their preparations.

The 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team has an authorized strength of about 3,450 soliders

Ron Paul showed the biggest gain from Grassfire’s May poll, rising from seventh position (6 percent) to a solid third position (13 percent) – a more than a 50 percent increase in support among grassroots conservatives. Mike Huckabee’s support also rose, from 3 to 7 percent. “Paul’s rise shows that conservatives are not all that thrilled with the anointed frontrunners,” says Elliott. “Paul’s message is resonating with many conservatives, and it would be wise for the other candidates to take note.”
