Russia has no information proving that Iran has any military nuclear programme, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

Lavrov said on Wednesday, “That is why Russia will work out its approach towards a new U.N. Security Council resolution on Iran in accordance with latest U.S. intelligence data saying Iran has no military nuclear programme.”

“During Tuesday’s meeting with Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mr. Jalili, President Vladimir Putin urged once again the Iranian leadership to comply with the requirements of the IAEA Board of Governors and the U.N. Security Council. Under the requirements, the IAEA and the U.N. Security Council demand Iran continue cooperation in order to clarify the remaining problems. They also demand Iran stop its uranium enrichment programme. That will make it possible to resume talks on all problems raised by the international community and Iran,” the Russian minister stressed.
