Regarding Condi Rice.

When she was young, her family moved to Alabama. They were Democrats. Her father went to the Democratic party headquarters to register to vote. They disallowed him. He was stunned. (But then, this was the party of the Confederacy, the Rebels of the South)

Being a man of strong faith and high self-esteem, he went to the Republican party headquarters, thinking that the voter registration forms must be the same for the state of Alabama and that he could get around the system that way and mail in the forms for him and his wife.

He was careful about revealing his party affiliation when he asked to register, "undecided". The Republicans welcomed him, registered them, and asked him to become an officer of the precinct.

The rest is history.

The Republican Party...the party of Abraham Lincoln...you know, the guy who freed the slaves...not the ones who feed them lies and programs to get their votes...the ones who create jobs and respect them enough to put them in the game with the rest of us.
