As with anything that I come across, I try to research things to find out if there is anything to it or not.
I came across this 'sign marking' info a little while back. I live very near a base and lot of our signs have these stickers on the back. I also looked for the 'blue blue blue' signals as well.
I have come to the conclusion that this information is NOT correct and do not significantly point to places of transportation or detention.

are to locate resources>
Hospitals, food, important MFg. Plants, etc..

What did you all think all those shiny holographic stickers all over were for?

I remember when I was a kid in school, I want to say back around 1980, and we were reading stories in the scholastic reader, you know the monthly reader they would send around for certain elementary grades, in the USA.
Anyway, one of the stories in the reader was about these kids playing outside in colonial times - horse and wagon days and they find this thing in the ground and are playing on it. At the end of the short story, it is revealed to the readers - a bunch of ten and eleven year-olds in the 5th grade, mind you - that the artifact was a highway "speed limit 55" sign (these things are huge, btw) that the children where playing on, using it as a slide. They uncovered it, buried in the ground on a hillside.
That story always stuck with me - and now I wonder - wtf?!? They trying to tell us something in GRADE SCHOOL back then? 'They' know something is coming, believe me you.
Sorry to digress, but topic of this thread reminded me - couldn't help myself. |

Strange road signs

I have seen strange signs around the metro detroit area. In fact on the street where I live. There is a section of concrete on the sidewalk that has been painted black with a yellow X on it. This is not to replace the slab of concrete as they mark those with flourescent orange spray paint. Saw another like it a few miles from here also. Down the John R at the Target store in Troy, there is a black circle with an X in there parking lot. In Birmingham, I believe on either Square Lake Road or Long Lake west of Woodward there are semi yellow circles, and full yellow circles painted on the roadways. In Sterling Heights on Ryan Road there are yellow circles painted on the roads. No one seems to know what they are and who put them there. |

All military bases, airfields, hospitals, churches and power plants are already shown on public maps. I would imagine most higher ranking officers in the UN would speak and read English so they could follow what was written on the faces of the signs instead of cryptic codes on the reverse....What purpose would this elaborate scheme serve? I simply can NOT believe people are raising the flag on this one..have you done your research? Have you investigated? I was in the military and have friends that work as police officers and it IS true...I didn't read the article and do not need to..
this system was set-up for national emergency and/or as we here say..Martial Law. It is imperative to know where the hospitals/jails ect. are for an emergency.
No different than the PACKET that sets at the radio station should the code come through. Now, I haven't worked in radio as an on-air producer in years, but we all knew what it was for.
One night the code actually did come across the AP and I called the station engineer and he told me to wait a bit..THANK GOD they sent message that it was a mistake..can you imagine what would have happened had I opened it?

Near the AMAX theater, near Herman Park in Houston, the streets have many of these signs. Spooked me out.

I read about them 5 yrs. ago and when I traveled to Delaware. I saw the tacmars, on the back of many signs. No matter what language you speak, the signs tell you where the places are that you need to go to. |

Which isn't true. The blue reflectors indicate fire hydrant locations. Red shows you're going the wrong way...or against traffic.
As for the original topic...why should I believe that link? The person who created that web-site took pictures but none of them actually shows what is on those reflective decals says. We're just supposed to believe this person because he said so? |
