They have a deal with Direct TV in areas where there is no FIOS service.


They advertise that they get you Dircect TV with a discount, if you order their verizon triple play.

Their Triple Play comes with Verizon phone, dsl, and direct tv.

They have a deal with Direct TV, the Direct TV bill comes with your Verizon bill, you don't get a separate bill from Direct TV. The bill is all together and it all shows up on the Verizon bill.

On their first bill, it said that they charged $80 for the modem and equipment.

On the back of the bill, it says that if you disconnect, you must return all the equipment back (thru fed ex or whatever) or they will charges you $500 for the equipment.


They also say that when you sign up, the plan is a 2 year contract, so if you disconnect, they will charges you a disconnect fee on top of all this.

I was gonna get Verizon and the free TV--Whats the deal with the bill --gotta know now !!!!

That is Verizon, this disconnect fee is seperate from the extra fee they'll charge you if you don't return the equipment.


This Verizon Triple Play comes with Direct TV


Direct TV says that when you sign up, the contract is for 2 years.

A disconnect fee would be $150.

and you must return the equipment within 30 days or they'll charge you $300 for each dvr box and $100 for each standard receiver.

Verizon says that you must return their dsl equipment within 30 days, or they'll charge you $500

The equipment is not even worth $500

And this is after they charge you $80 for the equipment.

I have not disconnected yet.

First, I'm going to try to downgrade the dsl and the direct tv.

The dsl comes in 3 speeds/prices.



They ripped me off from the first day.

Direct TV advertises free installation.

I ordered one dvr and one standard receiver.

They installed 2 receivers instead.

They came back and replaced one receiver with one dvr, and charges $20 for that.

We have local phone, upgraded Dish TV w/3 receivers and DSL for about $130 per mo. We are with Windstream. Without all the taxes and service charges they add on it would probably be around $100.

If you decide to disconnect

They say it's a 2 year contract.

These people are 100% thieves.

Guilty of false advertisement and fraud.

They should be sued.

Verizon has the triple play here in NY--FIOS though--on Long Island --wife wants to switch and we have til the 31st to decide--have cable now no problems she just hates Cablevision.. Any comments--how about speed of cable Vs DSL

cable is faster but that's not the problem.

I Just Switch to Verizon triple play and month and half. Now I just call the cablevision departament so they are going to give me 2 years contract for the same money I use to pay $98.00.And they willing to pay the early fee cancelation to verizon $199.00. I got to many promise from verizon and on the end I got tree bills on tree weeks.I am willing to fax you the bills from verizon so you will now what scame it's all about. paying over 250$ on less the a week. My phone it's 5168652433 I will happy to fax you the bills. the charge they do on taxex and fee.If you like to extent the cablevision contract call 1800-918-2581 they will give you on extancion for 2 mor year and you will not regreat like I do.

never have experienced verizon's direct tv triple play but i have the fios triple play here in long island and i love it i live in west babylon if you know about west babylon you know cablevisions optimum has had a monopoly on us for years so i was dying to drop io in a heartbeat i had the silver package with io i only had two boxes 1 being a dvr and i was paying a little over $200 dollars which was crazy cause i only had hbo starz and encore with the package and they took alot of channels away from me from my two other tv's i had and they said i have to get 2 more boxes to get my channels back wich would bring my bill even higher so needless to say i was pissed so FINALLY fios opened up on my block a door 2 door guy spoke with me and told me fios was available i was excited but not as excited to sign up with him i dont trust door 2 door guys who ill never see again so instead i called well wait before that i called cablevision and told them that fios was here and if they wanted to help me lowering my bill so i wouldnt leave since ive been a customer for years they flat out denied me any help and said fine leave that was the last straw infuriated i called verizon and said sign me up NOW lets see what they gave me the promo they had was $89.99 for all three services plus $150 cash back and i told them i needed a dvr and a hd box but they asked if i only had 2 tv's because with fios you need a box for each tv so i told them i had 4 tv's so they gave me 1 dvr and 3 hd boxes they said it was the same price as standard boxes so why not get the better box oh and a cool thing about their dvr is that you can watch all your recorded shows on any tv even if you dont have dvr's on the other tv's and he was running a special for all the movie channels for $30 bucks hbo cinemax starz encore showtime and a few extra movie channels that included in the package and the internet is so much faster than cable its unbelievable they said it was 20 over 5 im not sure what that means but they assured me it was faster im not stuck on the computer much to even care but when i tested it out man theres no comparing to make this story short im paying $185 for fios and couldnt be happier that i made the leap now cablevision keeps calling my home even sent one of their reps (yes more than 1 time) to my house saying they will give me everything i have with fios for $140 a month but where was the $140 deal when i talked to them before switching to fios i will never go back to io after that even if they gave me everything for $100 dollars when they had a monopoly they dont care of raising your prices when theres competition then they act like the good guys who want to help you out on your bill screw cablevision i love fios too much to give it up oh another thing cablevision gave me the same speech or fear mongering tactics about verizon about hidden fees and such like in this forum. Direct TV is a peice of SHIT with there RIPOFF TRIPLE PLAY. DON'T GET TRICKED INTO THIS SUCK BALLS SERVICE.
