Who predicted a nuclear exchange between India and Pakistan? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 345545 Belarus 12/27/2007 09:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | this doom is old as hell. it was played over and over and predicted and repredicted many times. the last time i remember in the large source it was in New Scientist a couple or two of years ago. they discussed the opportunity that nuclear war can happen due to the fact that india dries pakistan water sources and other obvious reasons. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 344817 United States 12/27/2007 09:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There have been wars and "skirmishes" between the two countries since they split a part in 1848. This has been ignored recently due to other issues around the world. I don't necessarily see predictions as being set in stone. It's nice to be informed and aware of all sources of information, however. I'm not trying to feed into or create a doom scenario here. |

For some reason, I did not read that thread, although I remember seeing it. It was several years ago (at least) that I heard or read this other prediction. I don't know why people bother mocking and posting snide comments. I appreciate the serious responses. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 346326 United States 12/27/2007 10:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A while back, I heard someone predict there would be a nuclear exchange between these two countries and that it would be the start of a series of nuclear exchanges. IT may have been someone's interpretation of one of Nostradamus' quatrains. Is anyone familiar with this? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 344817Sean David Morton Evelyn Paglini Both on Coast to Coast. |

It's vague. 2. 2009 will come, and if new asteroid hits Earth, then no one will remember it. However, if one does, everyone will know that I forsaw this event and am a psychic. See the issue? |

The name "Pakistan" means "Land of the Pure" in Urdu, and Persian. It was coined in 1934 as "Pakstan" by Choudhary Rahmat Ali, who published it in his pamphlet Now or Never. The name represented the "thirty million Muslims of PAKSTAN, who live in the five Northern Units of (British) India — (P)Punjab (A)Afghania (North-West Frontier Province) (K)Kashmir (S)Sindh (STAN)BaluchisTAN. .trivial trivia. |
