MARLBORO LIGHTS taste WORSE THEN the ultra lights use to taste.ITs like smoking AIR. That tastes like SHIT.If this is the way the GOVT is PLANNING ON CONTROLLING PEOPLE, we need to stand up and take back our COUNTRY. Obama is heading us down the road of SOCIALISM, and its invading our own homes and our PRIVACY. Something is radically wrong with this..AND NOW CHICAGO style thug TACTICS taking over companies and dictating their GOVT VIEWS..WRONG PEOPLE..Make a stance and remember the GOVT is suppose to be WORKING FOR we the People. |
| Duckedape User ID: 804741 10/28/2009 04:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had no idea that they were changing cigarettes. I thought I had a bad batch when they kept going out. Bought more from another store and got the same thing. A few days in, my whole mouth and throat was sore, and thought I was getting the flu. Like many of you, I will probably quit. That is a CHOICE I should have been able to make for myself. Rolling your own is an alternative for the time being, but they will change the papers too. I've had to hear how they make my hair and clothes smell, how I'm harming other people around me, how I'm hurting myself, how dirty they think my house is. They tell me this will save thousands more lives a year. PLEASE, PLEASE tell me how many lives could have been saved each year if they took the alcohol out of beer and whiskey, make it super thick and chunky so it would take a long time to consume, and make it taste like puke. How many would it save? Does smoking make you walk or talk differently? Does it make you go home and smack your wife and kids around? Does it make you use dirty language? Does it alter the way you reason? Does it alter the way you drive? Does it alter any of your behavior? THE ANSWER IS NO. SO DRINKING ALCOHOL IS ALL RIGHT??? I hope everybody in America (if you still want to call it that) stops smoking. Where, Oh Where, are they going to get the tax dollars then? ALCOHOL PERHAPS?? Gee, wouldn't that be a shame? ![]() |
| *~*T*~* User ID: 805475 10/29/2009 01:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm not sure really what to think with everyone saying there different opinions about the FSC crap on cigs but I HATE! ALL OF THEM! Marl. didn't deny it and I bought Cams. Instead. Now they're all changing over and I would like to know the facts because if I don't know, it's like taking a drug from a "friend" that doesn't tell you what's in the product that they sell! So in that concept, I will quit smoking because I'm not that weak and I will buy my own tabacco and roll my own if I have to. I think it's bullshit that nothing's been announced in regards to this in full extent. So which tabacco company hasn't put this CRAP INTO or Taken OUT of thier cigarettes yet? I NEED ANSWERS! THIS IS A BUNCH OF CRAP!!! Juliana81@live.com to comment back |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 750269 10/29/2009 02:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | from my research the new cigs have 3 bands in the paper made of bascially Vinyl acetate a flame retardant plastic of sorts which when burned emits highly toxic fumes. Add on top the other additives. The problem with the FSC is the chemical that they use to make them firesafe is highly concentrated. I can't smoke these things. Major nasty! |
| mj-13 User ID: 805406 10/29/2009 04:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The fucking heads of these cigarettes fall off, WHILE STILL LIT. Please explain how they are going to save lives? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 436302They smoke down to the ring of the retardant and the next thing you know the damn head falls off onto your clothes or wherever, burning through what they land on. That's entirely moronic. I totally agree! More often than not, when I go to "flick", the damn cherry falls right off and sometime on my hand or lap. Ouch! So yes. You are correct that it is moronic to have such a contradiction. They attempt to make a fire proof cig that actually starts fires! It's like a dumb joke. And on top of that, they want to kill us faster with more toxins included in the contents of the cigarette. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 654943Smoking is really quite a stupid activity...and look how spun up you all are about a stupid activity. Hahahahaha. Aren't we all high and mighty now that you've been smoke free for two whole weeks wow. You are so perfect and wonderful aren't you. We all know that quitting is the best thing to do but just like you did we continue to do it. Take your superior god like judgmental attitude and kiss my ass. |

I know i do. havent had this problem since the change. WTF is going on. Are they trying to kill us? |
| mary User ID: 812250 11/06/2009 07:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | it is confirmed, the adhesive they are using in these cigarettes is more dangerous than they will say the taste is definitely different. i feel as though there is something stuck in my throat when i smoke them. it is a suffocating feeling i don't experience with cigarettes that doen't have the fsc on the code. i am in the process of hunting down tobacco without this new experience. god save us all even us smokers |

| styxiejones User ID: 813645 11/08/2009 04:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My girlfriend is a lifetime smoker--she's 32. I do not smoke, and even thought I bitch about the smell, the cost, the taste of smokers' breath, the health risk--I still buy her smoke if she needs them. I still ride with her in either of our cars while she smokes, etc. I basically let her be herself is what I am saying. Since these smokes have changed, they ARE bad..she started to feel ill after 2 cigs. She only finished the pack she bought because she was trapped at work and it was all she had--plus at $5.85 a pack here in Ohio--it is becoming more and more expensive! We drive to different stores, lookingfor old stock of the normals...I hope she quits, but I also know it is "easier said then done" and I respect that. You dont just STOP a habit that you've had half or longer of your life...I really hope these smokes go back to how they were, but I honestly do not see it happening. We, the consumers, were tricked into it and now that we are aware--be it too late..well, I think we're stuck. Hope some bootlegging gets going soon!! LOL Good luck all!! ~sj~ |

That is why they taste and make you feel terrible. We who smoke all know the health effects on our bodies, but these chemicals are dangerous. Naphthalene listed in the MSDS(material safety and data sheet) as toxic if fumes are inhaled and can be deadly if smoke/fumes from ignition are released, like when you light a cigarette. They passed this legislation across the country before most people realized what was going on. Don't give up, write or call your Gov't Officials! |

| in NC User ID: 824251 11/21/2009 11:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I hadn't heard anything about FSC at all until a recent visit to OH and my niece told me they are putting carpet glue in cigs now. I had to buy some while I was there and have been sick since. I am now back in NC where they haven't started this yet and back to the none FSC smokes. Much much better. NC charges outrageous cig taxes but it helluvalot better than FSC. |
