Re: FSC Cigarettes
they remove the saltpeter, saltpeter is what keeps a cig burning , keeps you buying more cause you light it up and set it down and it burns away...look at cigars ,or roll your own cigs, light it up,set it down ,it goes out....NO saltpeter...

Hi kay;
I think in my research I may have found out what's up with those cigarettes. They use an adhesive called ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion based adhesive. At least that it what one of the pattents for reduced ignition propensity cigarettes said was required. I looked up the chemical. It is the same adhesive used for glueing the backing on carpeting. It has shown to cause tumors in mice, but it is not know what it does to humans. Also, I read the metals such as aluminum are used to help keep the cigarette burning where the speed bumps aren't, or something like that. At any rate that explains the metal taste that I am left with. I think there is far more to this. I don't think they care at all about the 700-1000 lives that will be saved, or so they say will be saved. Also, the testing done did not prove conclusively that fsc would not ignite and start fires. What bothers me most is that the only testing done on these cigarettes was in relations to it fire safety. No tests were done as to the health risks created by the changing of the cigarettes. I also am very suspicious as to how they snuck this on us. We hardly heard anything at all about this till it went in to law. Another weird thing is that back in 2004-2005 I used to buy Marlboro's from an indian reservation in NY, they were cheaper. I noticed that the cigarettes went out, however, they did not have the smell, taste or affect that these FSC have now. I know now that the pilot test was done in NY. Everything in the passing of the FSC law was based on what happened in NY. But I can tell you, that the cigarettes in the pilot test in New York are NOT the same as the one's they are pawning off on us now. They changed them. I think we are being experimented on, against our knowledge and will, just as they did medical experiments on prisoners and children in the foster care system. No one cared about them to make a stink and now no one cares about the smoker because we have been made out to be evil bad people who are hated by the general populace. Anyway, as you can see, I am really pissed off about this whole thing. I wish there were something we can do. People are going to get very sick and some are going to die from these cigs. Anyway, gotta go to work. Thanks for Emailing me back. Nance

What does FSC stand for? They are not the same. We smoke Marlboro. Not do they only go out while you are smoking them. Sometimes there will be ash then paper then ash starts again. It falls off and there goes a burn whole. Don't taist the same either. We hate them.

Re: FSC Cigarettes
It makes no difference to me what the chemical is in the new FSC cigarettes. I know that it is having a seriously negative impact on my health. I believe that in a few years we will all be hearing about the massive number of smokers dying from whatever this chemical is while the government tries to deny that the health problems have anything to do with the FSC designation.

I just found a much better alternative. Make your own! There are cigarette tubes with filters, simple and inexpensive machines to inject the tobacco into the tubes, and a great variety of tobacco on the market. I went to a local tobacco store and bought some tobacco and some tubes and a $10 hand injector. Amazing. I've been smoking Parliament for 30 years and these are BETTER! Far fewer chemicals and a better taste. All for about $12 per carton. There are endless varieties of full-flavored and light tobaccos and tubes on the market to satisfy any taste. There is no reason NOT to make your own.

Why are we supporting these ridiculous tobacco companies and the government who is trying to take away all smokers' rights when we could just make our own? What happened to the Land of the Free anyway?

Re: FSC Cigarettes
Thing is about fsc cigarettes...let's say you have a fire in the fireplace...burning some nice wood; good and hot with good air draft...compared to a bunch of smoldering newspaper dampened and smudge smoted...which one would you think has a better smoke? Which one is the flame of liberty and which is a pile of stinking shit?
Remember safe cigarettes of the just recent past?
Anyhow this fire safe cigarette stuff is pure bogus; Just is fools doing wrong things for some right reason and then falling all over themselves to agree with themselves and it takes on a life of its own...for various reasons but mostly; (in case you don't notice things that are too obvious...)that tobacco is being so hysterically vilified anyhow so that its terrible health effects can be used as scapegoat justification to tax hugely outrageously upon a select population to pay for the whole population who are sickened by any number of influences (even and wherewithal eventually natural causes; assuming that is even possible in this beyond control toxic world environment)...and a failing health care system? Wize dat?
So much idiocy snowballs from a few dumb ideas getting together and a bunch of dumb people getting together and rolling up there sleeves to solve a big problem. But man; y'all just don't care anymore at all if any of it makes any real sense anymore...as long as you can sort of "feel" for a bit that it might...sort of...kind-a almost...yeah.

So you prefer smoking potasium nitrate? Do you put exploding charges in your cigars or do you smoke them normally.

I have e-mailed everyone from our governor down, and there was NO research done on the chemical additive to the FSC cigarettes. They have no idea what is in them but "think" the chemical was added to the paper. They pass this law and give no choice, then don't even know what's in them? Can anyone say "depopulation program?".

The fucking heads of these cigarettes fall off, WHILE STILL LIT. Please explain how they are going to save lives?

They smoke down to the ring of the retardant and the next thing you know the damn head falls off onto your clothes or wherever, burning through what they land on. That's entirely moronic.

My husband and I also make our own and have for about 4 years. We figured it up and it works out to less than $1.00 pack.
Also if I buy packs of cigarettes I can easily smoke over a pack a day. When I make my own,I am now smoking less than a pack a day. Here is a great link for anyone who wants info.

Cheap cigs here, too! Some of them natural tobacco, no additives! [link to www.silvercloudsmokeshop.com] I smoke the SkyDancers, far cheaper than American Spirits, not quite as tasty, but the price difference of 30 bucks a carton is worth it! 10 cartons, 132 bucks. Been buying here since before the big dollar a pack tax hike in my state.

Only one person seems to mention the paper. I stopped and gutted a cig and you can clear see a difference in the paper at the very top the midldle and the bottome.
I too have also recently noticed most of the smokers that I know have had worse smokers cough and phlem in their throat.... . . . You can write whoever you want it wont help anything. I dislike being so pessimistic but the did the general population's concern matter all that much. (Unless it was on of the few top stories that all the media seems to cover) the rest of the people voice just seems to be suppressed, even as I typed this my smoke went out and I am a fairly fast typer. Anyways to those resposible for this.. THX WE REALLY APPRECIATE IT. :)
