AC 282813,
Are you trying to say this object is Torro? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 277343
.
.
The problem is that OP posted images of Toro [see the SpaceWeather SOHO C3 image] and Mercury [see the STEREO A COR2 images], but thought they were the same object -- one that (s)he could not identify.
The object that most have focused on, however, has been the one shown in the STEREO A COR2 images. If you compare two STEREO images -- one from 18 Aug 2007 and the other from 26 Dec 2007 -- you should come to the conclusion that the controversial object is Mercury.
As for Toro, look at SOHO C3 between 13 Dec and 31 Dec, and you should conclude that the object moving left-to-right is Toro, while the object moving from right-to-left is Mercury.
It's been messy trying to argue these points, but to me it all makes sense.
Look at the links in my other posts (AC 282813) and see if you come to the same conclusion.

Rerun,
If you click on the OPs link to SpaceWeather.com -- the link listed below "Not Mercury" -- you will have to agree that this image is in fact Toro on 31 Dec.
My point is that the OP has mixed up his images and has unknowingly included images of both Toro [SOHO C3] and Mercury [STEREO A COR2].
Do you at least agree with that?

Here's a STERO A link to Mercury's transit IN FRONT OF SOL, which occurred around 5 Nov 2007 -- relative to STEREO A, that is.

You can clearly make out Mercury.
I believe that when Mercury transits BEHIND SOL, the reflected light makes it appear much larger. I would compare this to what photographers call "Blooming."

On these forums, it is truly amazing to observe the lack of the most basic education of the very hardware your tax dollars are paying for, to then study the mysteries that await us off earth.
And not one of these brain dead motherfuckers even has called the SOHO office at the number I posted, to find out what we are all seeing.
No, it is easier to be an idiot, and froth at the mouth, tongue hanging out the side of the mouth, banging on that $3 Gateway keyboard, and slinging gibberish at posted fact.
And by responding with links and facts, this equates to a 'meltdown.....'
Incredible, but then this is woowoo city, and 'Strange at its best.
Tourettes, here, et al......
oh, and by posting facts and links, this somehow equates to being 'angry'.................God, I'm in tears over this and this thread. I am just howling. If I thought woowoo land was fucked up during the Art Bell days 10 years ago, whoa, this is utterly priceless............

Your ranting above certainly qualifies as a meltdown! Who calls SOHO? Come on... "GLP calling, what's that thingie at 8 o'clock, please?" I wonder why anyone in their right mind would post with their name and other personal info. At the second link under his name, there's a web page all about some school he's trying to open in Mexico... With pics of the guy, he thinks he's Indiana Jones. |
