From the point of view of STEREO A, which is "Ahead" of Earth by about 21 degrees, the anomaly appears to be Mercury.

There are MANY orbs in the images I captured from the archives before the website went down. I'll zoon the MANY orbs I found in those images from Dec 22 to present and put them on my website to show this is NOT MERCURY!
Does not look like a planet does in LASCO.

The LASCO image [SOHO C3] in the OP's post is of the asteroid Toro(1685), which transitted near earth between 13 Dec and 31 Dec - along a slight diagonal from left-to-right.
Don't confuse that SOHO image with the STEREO A COR2 images in the OP's post, because those are of Mercury as it transitted behind Sol -- reflecting lots of light and looking unusually bright.
Look at my other posts and links, and see if you don't agree.
The OP was unknowingly comparing apples to oranges while asking an honest question about something (s)he saw.
I'm not sure why there is so much silly "noise" in this thread, but it's pretty easy to ignore, though, if you are really looking for substance.
