The angle between the line of site at the sun and Jupiter increases, which would be the same as saying that Jupiter moved left to right across the field of view relative to the sun. Note: I rotated the earth back to bottom center for easier reference. |

Those who attack the messenger because the message is uncomfortable are in fact making an understandable, though primitive, response. The mosquito stings so you slap the mosquito, the apple is sour so you fling it into the bushes, someone reeks of body odor while attempting to kiss you and you give them a shove. Push it away, the child’s first response to something offending, with no further thought about repercussions. Adults, in human society, are supposed to be logical, entertain facts, digest, discuss, and conclude. They most often do none of this, but simply react, as a child, to the offending substance of message, rejecting it. These are not leaders of men, as this type of reaction makes them scarcely suitable for any life but swinging from trees, but as Internet access is granted to anyone, they write email and post their simplistic reactions on message board. “Go away, you’re crazy, I don’t want to hear it”, they cry, and when the shift occurrs will be found huddled in some corner making these demands still. |

"A sunspot located just out of sight over the sun's eastern limb has unleashed two strong C-class solar flares in the past 24 hours. The sun's rotation should bring this active region into view later today or tomorrow allowing us to evaluate its potential for more explosions. If you have a solar telescope, monitor the limb."

Just wanted to check the last sunspot activity on www.spaceweather.com , but this interesting video (NASA) catched my attention. The last sunspot explosion (C-Class flare) actually unveals something that does not make sense to me - please take a look ! While sunspot sends the flare into the space, a very clear object is reflected. It looks obvious the object rotates. The object cannot be very far from the sun as the flare can somehow cover it . If the object is close to the sun surface (maybe few mil. miles) then .. we talk about an object of a huge size. However, i could be wrong- what do you think?

Deep Impact
Jan. 1, 2008 -- A comet-busting NASA spacecraft zipped past Earth on Monday on its way to rendezvous with another comet in an extended mission that will also see it hunt for Earth-sized planets around a cluster of stars.
The Deep Impact probe made the first of three flybys designed to use the planet's gravity to hurtle the spacecraft toward comet Hartley 2 for a 2010 meeting.
At its closest, the spacecraft was 10,000 miles above Australia.
"We're taking laps around the sun until the comet comes," said William Blume of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
In 2005, Deep Impact became the first spacecraft to crack open a comet by releasing a copper impactor that smashed into Tempel 1, giving scientists their first glimpse of the interior. The mothership survived and was placed in safe mode before it was tapped for an encore.
The new mission, known as Epoxi, calls for Deep Impact to meet Hartley 2 about 12 million miles from Earth at the time of the encounter. Deep Impact will hover 550 miles from the half mile-wide surface and use its two telescopes and infrared spectrometer to map features and record gas outbursts.
On its way to the comet, Deep Impact will spend six months using one of its telescopes to search for Earth-sized planets around five nearby stars, which are known to have Jupiter-like planets orbiting them.
The extended mission, managed by JPL in Pasadena, cost $40 million, compared to the $333 million it took to collide with Tempel 1.
NASA initially wanted Deep Impact's second act to be an exploration of comet 85P/Boethin in 2008. But to scientists' surprise, a bevy of ground and space telescopes were unable to spot it this fall. Astronomers believe the comet may have shattered into specks too small to be seen from Earth.
Mission managers then asked the space agency to change course and visit Hartley 2, which required a path correction and an extra two years of travel.

i agree somethings is up. but for the record the nasa press release and deep impacts flyby where premeditated, not an emergency release. goro has been following it on his site. but interesting enough the logo for "deep impact" is a rendition of the eye of Horus/Ra. So the Sun is definitely part of its agenda or storyline. All are symbols and messages within the illusion leading us to....

Deep Impact has New Mission for New Year
By SPACE.com Staff
posted: 13 December 2007
06:39 pm ET
A former comet-slamming spacecraft will swing by Earth on New Year's Eve before starting a two-and-a-half-year journey to Comet Hartley 2.
Deep Impact will first spend six months using the larger of its two telescopes to search for Earth-sized planets around five candidate stars. The second part of its extended mission involves a flyby of Hartley 2 that allows close observations of the comet's features.
"It's exciting that we can send the Deep Impact spacecraft on a new mission that combines two totally independent science investigations, both of which can help us better understand how solar systems form and evolve," said Michael A'Hearn, Deep Impact leader and University of Maryland astronomer, in a statement about the spacecraft's new EPOXI mission.
NASA originally gave the go-ahead for the Deep Impact spacecraft to investigate Comet Boethin, but scientists eventually realized they could not identify the comet and its orbit in time to plan the mission flyby of Earth. The spacecraft will use the planet's pull of gravity to redirect itself toward Comet Hartley 2 on December 31, 2007.
Deep Impact made history on July 4, 2005 when it smashed a probe into Comet Tempel. The resulting data differed greatly from what scientists found on previous comet missions Deep Space 1 and Stardust.
"One of the great surprises of comet explorations has been the wide diversity among the different cometary surfaces imaged to date," said A'Hearn. "We want a close look at Hartley 2 to see if the surprises of Tempel 1 are more common than we thought, or if Tempel 1 really is unusual."
The Deep Impact eXtended Investigation (DIXI) will follow up on those earlier findings not by smashing objects into Comet Hartley 2, but by mapping outbursts of gas from the comet surface, looking for water ice, and analyzing the cloud of gas and dust surrounding the comet.
However, starting in late January, the spacecraft will first focus on detecting alien worlds in the Extrasolar Planet Observations and Characterization (EPOCh) phase of its two-part mission.
Many extrasolar or alien planets normally remain hidden because of the glaring light from their stars. Deep Impact's telescope can detect planets by subtracting the light of a star alone from the combined light of both the star and its planet.
The mission will observe five nearby stars where large, Jupiter-like planets were already discovered. Deep Impact may detect neighboring planets by watching for any gravitational pulls on the known planets' orbits.
The total journey – starting from December 31, 2007 to the closest comet encounter on October 11, 2010 – will be roughly 1.6 billion miles or some 18 times the distance from the Earth to the sun. The spacecraft will need three trips around the sun before it can intercept Comet Hartley 2.

Dec 26, 2007, STEREO A COR2:
Mercury is behind Sol but BELOW ecliptic.
[ link to stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov]
Do I have to go on?
December 2007 was the first time that STEREO A COR2 imaged Mercury in it's "controversial" position.
It's Mercury.
.
.
If Asinine is correct that Mercury is in the FOV of Ahead on Dec 31 (and it seems he went about this logically and methodically and indeed there is something that looks like a planet Dec 22-Dec 28 on the Ahead, morphs to a dark swirling ball on Dec 29) ...
Then the outstanding question is WHY is December 2007 transit BELOW the Ecliptic? Is this correct for the tilted orbits or Earth and Mercury, or NOT?
If not, the issue has moved from whether or not it is Mercury, to why has the position of Earth (or Mercury) relative to the Ecliptic changed? Depending upon whether all is normal re this, I have some more info from the Zetas.
I'm on page 33 now, and appolgize if this has all been resolved. Digging forward. Quoting: Nancy Lieder
I think the answer to this is that Mercury is above the Ecliptic for the left-to-right-front-of-the-sun transit and below the Ecliptic for the right-to-left-behind-the-sun transit. With an orbit of 88 days, with August being above the Sun, then 120 days later it has gone round 1.5 times and would be below the Ecliptic.
So in my view, the only outstanding question is the FOV issue, which the NASA link implies that Mercury could NOT be in the FOV for the Stereo Ahead cam.

Okay, what I am wanting you to see didn't show up.
Go to [ link to sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov]
Click on MPEG Movies,
then
go to the picture Lasco C2, 512x 512. At 1/1/08, it pops up, actually closer to one oclock. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 160058
There's another moon at 1 o'clock too.

...Then the outstanding question is WHY is December 2007 transit BELOW the Ecliptic? Is this correct for the tilted orbits or Earth and Mercury, or NOT? ...Digging forward.
If its indeed Mercury then ..and this is just an insane thought BUT Could it be that earth orbit has been halted/interfered with? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 308272
