At first I thought this object was Mercury. But now I don't see how it could be.

Looking at the Sun from Earth, Mercury is off to the right. The 'Pro Mercury' agument is that the object in question is being photographed from the oposit side of the Sun and that's why the object appears on the left side of the screen.

However, if you look at the SOHO images showing Mercury to the right hand side of the screen, the solor flare is clearly seen moving off the the left on the 12-31 image--away from Mercury! Therfore this object is not mercury--which is currently on the other side of the Sun from the flare.

maybe I'm confused, but I still don't see how thia is Mercury.

well, I can see the logical and rational discussion of this 'object in question' has come to an end for this evening--and only the standered GLP's 'mud slinging' remains.

If the general lack of respect and hostel mindset on GLP's is any indication of the level of cooperation humans are capable of--is it any wonder that a hybrid race has been created--possibly to replace us in the near future!

Whenever I visit GLP's and whitness the pure hatred and ignorance on display--I wonder if a replacement might not be such a bad idea for the overall well-being of the universe.

I guess most are happy now that the object has to be Mercury.

I am not positive yet but more info is needed. If object is not Mercury something major would have to happen soon I suspect. I am sure Nancy will let us know what that is going to be. After she has been talking this large object for years!

If I didn't see such a debris field and what looks like moons. Seems not to add up with Mercury. I surely am not saying its not Mercury. If a PHD came on the board and told me I was stupid and of course its Mercury I would melt down and give in.!!!!

so I guess we can let this go until North pole get riped off are something !!!
