What's in a name? Well, let's explore it. But before I do I must mention that I am not completely convinced that he is or is not the anti-christ. I am however looking at all the connections that can be made because we are living in the end times and it's a duty we all have as believers in Christ and his word to be diligent and "read the signs of the times".
Barack Hussein Obama- Barack's first name means in Arabic, "blessed". The actual Arabic word is "barak". In Hebrew "blessed" is the word "baruch". Now the problem I have with the Hebrew translation is that "baruch" is not "barak". However, in Hebrew there is an actual word "barak" and it's translation is "lightning". This is very key. In Revelation it's prophesied that the "beast out of the land", who is the prophet of the anti-christ and is given all the power of the anti-christ, has the ability to call fire down from heaven. The actual Greek translation of the word John the Revelator used for fire is, ready for this, "lightning". Look it up for yourselves haha! I did.
His middle name, "Hussein" is the name of Mohammed's brother. This is very significant because it was the murder of "Hussayn" and his family back in the very beginnings of the Muslim movement that caused the actual rift between Shi'ite and Sunni Muslims.
His last name, "Obama", I haven't been able to find out exactly what it is translated to but I've heard that it could mean, "lion's voice". This however is unsubstaniated.
So Barack Hussein Obama's name literally means, "blessed lightning from Hussayn's family with a lion's voice out of Africa". I ask you, what's in a name?
I would like to admonish those of you who are determined already that Barack is the anti-chirst. You must stop stating this as fact! We believers have no credible proof that he is or isn't and because of that to annoint him as the prophesied anti-christ is foolishness right now. However, if and when he does get elected as president and brings peace between Arabs and Jews that will be enough proof. When and if that should happen we must all make sure our relationship with the true God, Jehova and His Christ is built on a seriously strong foundation!

He is the anti-christ. He has given me the creeps since the first time I heard him speak... when I realized how good he sounded, how much people loved what he said, yet how he never really SAID anything. he came out of nowhere. His mom is an atheist, who raised him to know all world religions, but only to glean what he could from each since none were true. After getting an email about him really being a muslim, I reasearched it myself, which led me to his church's website, which creeped me out all the more. This was months before the media exposed his pastor. That church is the literal equivolent of the black panthers meet the new world universalist church. It is ok to be black and gay, but whites and jews are not welcome. It was pretty clear. Another freaky creepy image was his helicopter landing on John Edwards lawn followed by him emerging as some type of powerful ruler, stopping in to add another to his flock. Then... violla... Edwards is suddenlt supporting Obama. Jedi mind trick? Threat? who knows? But every big shot he goes to meet with, suddenly jumps on board. Throw in Oprah's creepy cult online new age church that now has millions of virtual attenders, and her backing Obama, and it just gives me the willies. I mean... every spiritual red flag that I have is going up with this guy. He talks about meeting personally with the leaders of Iran and N. Korea. That will not work for anyone... Anyone but the anti-christ. Mark my words, this is ow it will play out. Obama beats McCain and becomes president. He has been running on change, and as the anti war candidate (anyone see that coming in the name of peace part?), yet he has alrady begun tempering his immediate pull out of iraq promises by saying that he can not committ to a definate timeline without knowing all the facts. Maybe he should have known all the facts before he started bashing Bush (who has access to all the facts) and taking the anti-war position, but I digress. Anyway, this is just one more example of him pumping people up with one promise, but preparing them for what he will really do. So he will make deals with N. Korea and Iran (his evil jedi mind trick maybe) which will astonish everyone and add to his fame, he will continue to keep troops in Iraq because that is where he will eventually set up shop (new babylon), then as horrible event after horrible event happen, he will in some way save or at least salvage the day in the people's eyes. Then the big event will happen. Someone will assasinate him. He has already set this up in the media. Releases from him and his supporters have already discussed the "danger" he faces of being assinated because he is black, and he has taken te brave position that he will not be affraid of that, and will not allow such fear or possibilities stand in the way of him "helping" his country. So the day then comes, and he is assasinated (real or set-up I do not know. I can only say that I think for real but as part of the plan.). then once again viola!!! he comes back to like fully indwealt with the spirit of Satan, claiming to be god and the messiah, giving his resurrection as proof. Oprah will lead the masses in worshipping him (check out the Biblical references to the anti-christs evil woman), and by then it will be too late for far too many people. Very Sad, but unfortunately most people just refuse to see the truth. |

If I understand Bible prophect correctly, the assasination attempt that you speak of would be a "deadly wound" Deadly means fatal, meaning Obama would die and the attempt on his life will appear to have been a success. But my understanding is, that the AC is supposed to have the "deadly wound" healed, and be "ressurected" seemingly through his own power, in order to copy what the true Christ did. But it will not be through his own power, but rather that of the powers of darkness, because Satan will then enter into the AC and that is when, quite literally, all hell will break loose upon the earth...
I find your research about the man's name very interesting...ever since seeing this man give a speech at the Democratic National Convention, I think it was? I knew he was to be destined for great things and great not necessarily meaning good.
with all of that said, I do not begin to profess to know who the AC will be, but like the one I quoted, I firmly believe that we are living in the end times, and he will very soon be revealed.

Ok on the fox new morning show about a week ago, they had a guy on. I was at work and only caught a piece of it. But the host asked the guy what would he suggest hilary do, in order to win. He said "To bring up the fact that in a speech Obama had given, as senator, he made fun of the bible and the book of Enoch(I think that was the book)" I tried that morning to find the interview on the fox news site, but couldnt. Or even to get the guys name, so I could possibly search that, to find the quote.

Actually...I believe that the book of Enoch is one of the books of the Apocrypha or one of the "lost books" of the Bible...it exists, but is just not in the cannon of scriptures that most people today call the Bible.

read your daniel passage again. Where does the "Little horn" come from? The fourth beast in Daniel's vision coincides with the part of the statue a couple of chapters before that stands for Rome. The little horn (anti-christ) will come from one of the nations that made up the Roman empire. Which included all of southern europe, and went around the mediterranean sea, including parts of northern africa. so you're right. he may not come from europe, but it does make up the vast majority of the old roman empire, and incidentally is almost the exact footprint for the proposed middle eastern union that's been floating around.

The bible doesn't mention China, India, Australia, Antarctica, or an other place that was not discovered at the time of it's writing. You have two choices here, to believe the bible is very literal and believe that any country not mentioned in prophecy will not exist at the end time, OR you can take it not so literally, and stop worrying... ;)
Anyways, the Anti-christ, if it's Obama, probably has no idea he's the anti-christ. Just like how if you were to be transported back in time and ask Jesus if he is the messiah, he would say, I'm just a carpenter...
I think naysayers will have to rethink the Obama anti-christ hypothesis, when he does make peace with both bin Laden and Israel... Ultimately he will betray both.

Well let's examine the roman empire. It did have a small obscure province, that due to the roman's naval ineptness meant it was to be obscure. From that province, came the nation of Britain, which founded the 13 colonies, which revolted and formed the nation of the USA. Thus the US is the little horn that came from the nations of the remnants of the roman empire.
The book of Daniel may have a double meaning, which is the antichrist will him/herself arise from obscurity.

Anyways, I think the bible's warning about anti-christ is a stern warning about being sheep to a charasmatic leader. That would be Obama and it would also be some crazy German due with a tiny mustache. ;)
It's not about who is THE anti-christ but who could be a anti-christ. An anti-christ, any anti-christ should be feared. As an anti-christ will have the power to convince the masses to do things they normally would not.

Jesus absolutely knew He was the messiah! And there are bajillions of scriptures I could quote to prove it. Here's one:
John 6:35 I am the Bread of Life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will not thirst.
Here's another:
John 5:34 But the testimony which I have is greater than the testimony of John (the baptist); for the works which the Father has given Me to accomplish-- the very works that I do-- testify about Me, that the Father has sent Me.
And just for giggles, a man who did not know He was Messiah would not go around forgiving people's sins (John 8) and telling people he was fulfilling messianic prophecy in their presence (Luke 4:18-21)

There is not one incident in the bible or otherwise that quotes Jesus saying "I am your messiah". Forgiving people for their sins is something that various religious leaders have done throughout history. An obscure religion you might have heard of with their leadership in a private compound located within the rebuilt former captial city of the roman empire, routinely forgive people for their sins, usually anonymously in a darkened cubby hole... ;)

So just how can obama be realistically called 'the assyrian'??? That is one of the requirements to be the antichrist and he, as well as 99.9% of the "antichrist candidates" does not fit that description.
The only person on the world scene (so far) that meets ALL of the requirements of the antichrist, including the one above, is prince el hassan bin talal of jordan. He is the president of the club of rome, assyrian by ancestry, descendant of the prophet muhammed, author of the olso accords and the treaty between Israel and jordan, and is a world renowned peace maker few americans have ever heard of --- and he is a prince who does not have his kingdom yet (he was the crown prince until his father died and passed his crown to his brother instead of his son - telling hassan his kingdom would be much larger) |

Hey dudes!
Since you've manage to put together a bathtub full of half-cocked theories based on complete misinterpretations of the bible and a total ignorance of Obama's actual stance on actual issues - coupled with a whole lot of "gut feelings" and instincts most likely agitated by race and ignorance - by all means go ahead and vote for the guy! You gotta get yourselves an AntiChrist into power so Jesus can swoop down in his red cape and take you all to Oz right? Why not hasten the inevitable? |

He will be the one to bring in the anti christ. He will probably make some deals with the arab nations and will love obama for making peace that noone has ever been able to do. It will open the doors to bring in the anti christ and then the rest will be history |

Stop being so heartless. God did not put us here to judge. (I do believe you are all going against that part of the bible also by judging him as the antichrist.) So yeah you may not like who is running for president but don't going jumping to conclusions about him that you can't prove.

I read the original claim and then the first page of replies and...you're all idiots. Did it ever occur to you to use the only dependable piece of literature that has ever been made? The Bible. Did it ever occur to you that since the name of this particular "beast" is Antichrist, that he will try to be a perfect copy of Jesus Christ? Don't you think he will be 33.5 years old either at the beginning of the Tribulation or, more likely, three and a half years into it when he is killed by a blow to the head and then (just like Jesus) is resurrected. That strikes down the Obama theory all by itself. The Antichrist will be born in Syria/Jordan, he will have a bum eye and a bad arm. 1 & 2 Tess. He will be Judas reincarnate. John 6:70-71. He will be a Moabite. Jer.28:24,25,41. I could go on and on but no time. |
