That's so funny! Just remember one thing not everybody is in the same situation. Marauding gangs? How well are they going to handle 14+ ft of snow? I'd say pretty slow how about 15 dogs and a pet bear? And all that's if they can find us. This is going to the Battered Womens Shelter the place is in town but out of the way and it's built like a fortress. It has its own electric supply, well, and active denial system perfect for someone needing security shelter. Plus it's going fully furnished 3 bedroom 2 bath the TV DVD the works even the pots and pans.

The speed depends on the package you buy. I pay about $80 per month and get 350 Mb/day of highspeed downloads. If I go over that limit, they throttle me back to dial-up speed for 24 hrs. So, I don't download long movies, but have no problem watching short youtube videos and the like.
I don't notice any lag.

I'm going to check that out. Right now we don't pay for service at the house it a benny from one of the jobs we did but the thing is SSSSSLLLLLOOOOWWWW.We would need some sort of unlimited access and fast I see they have a 2.5mbps available if that comes in unlimited access I'll be all over it.

They came and ran fiber along the main road a while back but I would have to pay to run it from there to the house or run it myself. We are about 2.5 miles from the main road and lots of rock until you reach the valley walls the it's all granite until you reach my first grain fields.

I suspect I could buy a lot of Hughes air time for the cost of running cable or fiber.

It's really not a bad system, except when the weather gets bad. Heavy rain or snow knocks out the signal. I'd be sure to get a heated dish out there in the high country, unless you want to have to go out and sweep the dish off every time it snows!

We have a bear that hangs around the house with the dogs it's wild but friendly toward us but I have seen it aggressive toward outsiders . It's in the den right now we won't see her again till spring.

The dogs range in size from a couple of Bull Mastiffs to the smallest are Boxers. Actually there are 16 dogs a German Short Hair decided to adopt us.

If we get the snow they expect tonight you could add 2-4ft to what's already there. This is early in the season usually our heavy snow fall is in March I would think we might have a total of 25 or so feet.

Gangs would end up as meat popsicles and snacks for the animals in the spring

It would give us another chance to blow shit up!

We have started to expand our range to one side where the vein was. We bought 10 pallets of those shaped charges and with that much fun laying around and a bunch of old war dogs you know what happens.

You'd be speechless if confronted with the reality of the animal torture which is a well known activity in China. Me, I've seen people die horrible deaths, I've seen a lot of horrible things, I've experienced a lot of horrible things, and so I can typically hear of something, see something or experience something and remain relatively stoic. However, in researching the torture committed by the American government, I came across a video of this Chinese animal torture which I had never even heard of previously - my jaw literally dropped with the very first image. I've never seen anything like this. Me. Me, I have never seen anything like this.

After seeing that video, I'd probably support attacking China militarily, just to end that...activity. I'd be very wary of doing that though, because if that's what they'll do to innocent animals...what will they do to people they hate - captured soldiers for example...or what would they do if they somehow managed to get here, to the homeland? ...What would they be willing to do to us?

The one we have now is on a pole that is around 40ft to get it to the tree tops but still concealed and keep it out of the snow. A heated dish is the only way to go as well as using RainX on the dish face.

Yep and now we have a gate so you can't just drive up! There is an intercom that works about half the time but the repeater is on top of a hill so it gets snowed in. One of the kids is supposed to keep it clear but you know kids!

If the dogs don't get yea the snow will and if the snow doesn't the bear will and that's if we don't see you on camera.
