Re: eliminating sexual desire?
Its not sexual desire you need to eliminate.

Its guilt. Sounds to me you have some preoccupation with sex and you have some guilt about that.

Sounds to me like you need some counseling to find out the solution to or the cause of you preoccupation.

Get rid of your guilt, find out the cause of your preoccupation, do not eliminate sexual desire...thats plain silly.

Wow. Are you ever wacked.

Every point in your response/post leaves logic bodily impaled and screaming for mercy. I mean, fuck just actually *read* what you've said.

Re: eliminating sexual desire?
Maybe my logic is not bad.

Maybe you're just an asshole mate.

I met a guy like you on the SLC tram a few years back.

Arrogant, aggressive to a fault, like you.

He and his girlfriend step on the TRAM. I looked to see who was getting on the TRAM.

Then I went back to my business. A few minutes went by, and next thing I know this guy sitting behind me says "What are you looking at?"

I turned around, and asked him "Was I looking at you?" He preceeds to act like a demon from hell. I can only assume him and his girl were probably having sex before they were married and that deprived him of the Spirit, which is why he was so out of line, LIKE YOU.

I turned around, and tried to ignore him. He continued. Eventually I got up and got in his face. He bitch slapped me.

I grabbed him. And we danced over to the doors edge. I shoved his head into the window a few times with my hand around his neck.

Then we danced over to a seating area. I put my hand on this morons shoulder, a guy you have a lot in common with with your inability to control yourself and respect other people.

Since I had my hand on his shoulder, he couldn't move his head. I pummeled his face.

The only time he ever touched me was the initial slap. And then the conductor stopped the train.

We got off, and then Captain Dumbass, wanted me to kick his ass some more.

I hope someday, you have the balls to be as rude to someone like me, like this guy is, not on the internet, but in person.

Re: eliminating sexual desire?
Well, I don't have an answer for you exactly - but I will make this observation: Have you ever noticed that sexual desire is a desire that increases the more you indulge it, and diminishes the less you indulge it? [And by indulge, I mean mentally as well as physically.]

Any desire that controls you is unhealthy, but our various desires are also a part of being born into humanity. Maybe you should explore why you desire the things you do, and if those reasons are unhealthy, address those root causes. Either way, you should work on learning to control your desire - but I'm not sure if its possible to eliminate desire altogether.

My stepfather kept some Playboy magazines on his headboard for his bed.

I swiped some of them, and stashed them under a drawer in my bureau.

I went back one evening after high school to have some fun.

And instead of the missing Playboys I found a note in my stepfathers handwriting.

"Too much of a good thing may not be good for you."

It's impossible to make a perfectly accurate judgment of what you believe another person is lacking in his/her life anyway. They'll have to figure it out themselves. I think its hypocritical and a logical fallacy that humans knows what's best for another person. People shouldn't be thinking or have belief systems anymore. Thinking is extremely dangerous.

And sometimes when one resists they are tempted even more! Desire is part of human nature, it makes up part of who we are, our essence. It's part of that be fruitful and multiply thing.

Look, I am chasted and not by choice. The right man just has not entered my life. To me sex and marriage are sacred. I do have the kundalini btw, which does make the sex issue even more difficult cos it will fiercely ignite the inner fire with its ascent. I have learned tho to do what the tantric monks do tho, I transmute the sex energy to spiritual energy and ride it up the spine. And if ever I were to find my man, I would still use the tantric techniques to be one on many levels with my mr right.

So I do not deny sex of its desires, only that it requires mastery over it. Also I also treat desires a just another one of those things that frolicks playfully in the mind.... that is observed but not to be obsessed over, nor attached too. The concept is not to cling to anything of the mind. Consider thoughts liken to holding a stone in one's hand. One must not forever cling to the stone, but only acknowledge it and then let it go as it falls to the ground. Clinging brings attachment, and at any time I can be pried from one's hand and lost, better to willful chose to let it go on one's own. Appreciate, cherish and savour but do not cling to, or become obsessed by. Life goes by better when this principle is learned.

Btw, this was taught to be ethers, it was given via rhema. Later found out this was also taught in buddhist teachings too. LOL. Etiher way tho, still good wisdom. :)

Btw, Vizz had a very good handle on it as well. Well spoken there Vizz.

Re: eliminating sexual desire?
Avoid going to places where the women are showy or pretty.

Don't watch television. This is for all manner of reasons.

If you view explict images (I am not telling anyone to do this [indeed you shouldn't do this]} -- excessive exposure to it all raises tolerance, but it might have terrible side effects. This is why you SHOULD NOT attempt to raise your tolerance through exposure to it.

The best and easiest way to eliminate sexual desire is find and marry a wife. This way you get to have sanctioned sexual intercourse. Unfortunately though... because of the nature of sin -- you may find yourself indulging in increasingly salacious acts with your spouse -- you may even be tempted to engage each other in all manner of sickly sweet debauchery for the promise of sexual satisifaction. Such compromises result in the abject desctruction of souls. It's a bad thing. It truly is. So -- if you go the wife route you better make sure she is as conscientious as you are. There is nothing worse than defiling yourself with a reckless woman who then abandons you because you refuse to indulge her debauched fantasies.

You'll find yourself wondering what it would be like to join her.

Only the strongest of wills can embark on a life of celibacy. Only attempt it if you've lived most of your youth in this state.

For such a person sex is a function. In their most earnest moments, such people have total mastery over their wants and desires and in a final analysis such persons (for the sake of being accepted) merely pretend to desire. The trouble is those moments don't last for ever -- especially not when there are full blooded, nubile, healthy female specimens all over the place.

Edgar, are you serious with the "thinking is extremely dangerous"? Or did you type that without thinking?
 Quoting: Miss Ann Thrope

When people try to challenge one principle, they will eventually agree with the contrary, and then use another to "reaffirm" and increase the balance. That's what most people do, but they don't have definite principles underlying their assumptions. They are full of unconscious contradictions. That's because our communication medium is too crude and inefficient: too much energy is lost into conveying every ordinary idea, opinion, subject, etc. We would only agree 100% if we had the entire universe in our heads, or if ours minds fused into one. Telepathy would be one step further, that's for sure.

This is mostly because we can't ever say nothing that summarizes the great Paradox, or Whole, or Universe, or God....only the most absolute silence and contemplation could describe it accurately.

Textual chatter is in itself absurd, because we both know that everything is relative and real answers will only come with real experience. But that would leave us without words.
