insane...

the other day I was withdrawing money from an atm in maryland...quite close to dc...and a guy came up to me a told me to be careful...

he had just withdrawn a few 20 a 100 dollar bill and when he went to a Safeway, they told him it was counterfeit.

He took it back to the bank and a teller told him something to the effect ..." they get large quantities of notes in at the same time and sometimes the fake ones make it through screening"...

this is absolutely ridiculous.....

i didnt believe it at first....but how the hell are banks passing off fake notes?
