It doesn't have to hit to us to cause problems on earth.
All it needs to do is penetrate the magnetosphere. It is projected to do exactly this on Jan. 29th.
All we have is hope that a dragon will be born again, and one will rise to lead us to freedom. |

Here's a good calculation for you to do. Figure out which continent will be exposed to impact. Which countries will be turned up to face TU24 as it comes to it's closest point.

We must be able to get away from where it hits! Our government should get a fix of where it will hit a few days before impact! This will allow enough time to get away from it. |

You can run but you can't hide - at least not for long. Just seeing all the reports of Volcanoes stirring to life tells you if it did hit it will be like cracking an egg. Earth is not as solid as you'd like to believe - just has a crust on top. I'd suggest that you enjoy these times not fear them. There have been many before us that never knew something was coming and never even got a chance to look.
Though all and all I believe this is a non story as all the rest have been. I believe if there was a chance of an impact we'd never even know it because they'd never list it for public consumption. Everyone loves a little bit of doom. |

I dont know if that equals halfway to the moon, but the MOID is right.

I wonder if "comet" Holmes could have been the cause of these asteroids being knocked out of some kind of normal orbit and kicking them closer to us. Hey you never know right ...i mean the TU24 asteroid near us and the other one near Mars. I wonder. |

Yea that could be ...but i just have this strange feeling about "comet" Holmes. It just seemed like all the pieces came fitting perfectly with Holmes. Situations in the world...the internet. Human thought and then the "comet" ...it all fit so perfectly. |

The PROBLEM is the effect of earth's magnetosphere.
Anybody know how far out that goes, from the planet itself.
I noticed: if the earth were a dime the magnetosphere would be about the size of a cantelope.
So, how far out is that, to affect an INCOMING OBJECT either to attract it or repel it, like a boat's wake ??

why do you morons keep confusing M.O.I.D. with 'collision'?
the lunar distance from our orbital intersection with this object means JACK SHIT without knowing it's relationship with the distance FROM EARTH!!!!!!
in other words...do you know how far AHEAD, or BEHIND the Earth this object will pass when it crosses our orbital path? This is the ONLY reason for concern.
SHR has a point, unless you can determine where, on Earth this object will hit - there is no doom
as for the magnetosphere....get a grip - no pole flip
and YES, I will kiss EVERY one of your asses if this object fucks with our magnetic field to the point of interfering with our lives
