Empress Petunia User ID: 360871 United States 01/23/2008 11:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | According to this article, the warning had to do with taking Ambien. Jack Nicholson: 'I warned Heath Ledger' January 24, 2008 08:00am HOLLYWOOD legend Jack Nicholson says he cautioned Heath Ledger before his fellow Joker actor's death. The movie legend was dining at the Wolseley restaurant in London when a photographer told him about Heath’s passing. Nicholson in London to promote new movie The Bucket List, replied “I warned him” then later said “I told him so”. Asked about Ledger's death, Nicholson said: "Wasn't that horrible''. The actor, who was wearing sunglasses at the premiere, said: "I took Ambien once. I fell asleep and then got a call and almost drove off a cliff 50 yards from my house.'' Reports have suggested that Ledger may have found playing the Joker role in the new Batman movie too much, and that the part left him unable to sleep. Called Ambien in the US, the tablet is marketed as Stilnox in Australia and hit headlines last year when a national drug hotline fielded calls from users reporting strange side-effects. About 500 people described odd behaviours from walking, crashing cars, having sex and falling from balconies after popping a pill. Nicholson said:"I took Ambien once. I fell asleep and then got a call and almost drove off a cliff 50 yards from my house.'' Nicholson and fellow star Morgan Freeman later gave their condolences. "It's a great loss to the industry, he was an enormous movie talent, it sounds like a tragic accident," Freeman said. [link to www.news.com.au] |

OP, your numerology is from the pits of hell. YOU be careful, now 'you've been warned', dabbling in Tarot cards is more than you realise. Then again, depends on which master you serve. If Heath was a non-believer, he is in hell. Short and simple. |

How odd that he would now chime in on Ledger's death the way he has. Who’s Laughing? Jack Nicholson ‘Furious’ He’s No Longer Joker in Batman Films 245 Comments | Published by Josh Horowitz on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11:22 am Wait ’til they get a load of me,” Jack Nicholson cackled maniacally nearly 20 years ago in Tim Burton’s “Batman.” Well come next summer, we’ll get a load of a whole new interpretation of the Joker when Heath Ledger grins from ear to ear in “The Dark Knight” and guess what, Jack is not happy. “I’m furious,” Nicholson whispered to me last week when I asked him point blank how he felt about Ledger assuming the role. (Check out my full extensive conversation with Jack Nicholson here and find out about the unrealized second sequel to “Chinatown” in part one of the Nicholson interview here.) Clearly the passage of time hasn’t mellowed Jack one bit when it comes to the Joker. His voice rose as he said, “They never asked me about a sequel with the Joker. I know how to do that! Nobody ever asked me.” For Nicholson the part of the Joker was an important one. “The Joker comes from my childhood,” he explained. “That’s how I got involved with it in the first place. It’s a part I always thought I should play.” Saying that Warner Bros. “kind of drove the franchise into the ground,” Nicholson added that he wasn’t inclined to go see “The Dark Knight.” He went on to praise filmmaker Tim Burton to no end. “[He’s] a genius. He had the right take on it. That’s why I did the movie. [Burton is] one of the great moviemakers. I think the world of him.” Are you with Jack or Heath? Who is the ultimate Joker? Should Christopher Nolan and company have considered bringing Jack back? Here’s your bat signal to weigh in below! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 290186 Australia 01/24/2008 12:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | good work OP, you raise some interesting points. I thought how horrible that such a physically beautiful man would be on the autopsy table having all his bits taken out, weighed and examined. ....... Just ghastly. So sad for everyone, his family and all his fans a star on the rise but also a troubled individual. The joker thing is very sinister and I wonder what awful things all that research lead to. I will always remember him in a Knights Tale and some of his happier roles. It is sad that so many beautiful and talented actors feel the need to take such sordid and dark roles in order to be taken 'seriously' by the establishment. I think the gay film he did was really bad for him. Sure his performance was good but I think he really didn't want to do it. He had real problems with some of the scenes and I think his thing with Michelle Williams was probably an effort to wipe a stain from himself. This is just speculation but he seemed really uncomfortable with all that gay stuff. |
