Good thing because she said the place was a deep fry oily mess. Cheese fries, blooming onions, all oily fried garbage. Why do you work for a shit organization like that? maybe your daughter was a shit waitress and could only handle two tables.....I dated a waitress there and she normally had 6 tables. The least she ever made was 120$ a night for a 5 hour shift. My cousin is also manager at an Olive Garden, they do have waitresses who cant handle what others can and only get 2-3 tables, because they arent there to satisfy employees. they are in the business of satisfying customers, If a waitress cant handle all her tables and gives poor service because of it then they loose customers. Personally I never give a restaurant a second chance, many others are like me. So servers have to be on the ball. Good servers make tons of money and never have to be worried about being let go. From my experience (7 years in that industry) you don't get "laid off" you get fired. Everyone is looking for part time servers for the holidays so she did something to instigate it. 2 table stations are a joke (at least in the Dallas area) reserved for trainees and early outs who come in to cover. Good servers can make really great money in 4 to 7 table stations of 4 top booths. With 2 tables you get a table of campers through the rush and you're money is shot for the night. Not sure if it works like this all over the country but most restaurants here have "tip out" where up to 5% of your total sales goes to the service bar, runners, bussers etc. Many a time I've seen servers get stiffed and end up having to pay out to wait on someone even though they took care of them. If it truely is crappy service you can stop it by talking to the mgr most of the time and they will take care of you. There also might be other tables sandbagging them and your service is suffering for it.
