I don't think you understand. We're talking enough money to fuel the stock market. IOW, HUGE amounts of money. There is no way it could be laundered in local community business and goods. Go to Solari.com and read the article, Dillon Read and the Aristocracy of Stock Profits. This will give you a better understanding of the magnitude of what she's talking about.
I do understand that you can't launder large amounts of money in small shops. It's a red flag. What I'm getting at is if everyone stopped buying drugs, where would the money go? They'd probably spend it more on other things for themselves and their families and spend it more in their local communities. Therefore, the local communities would probably grow and thrive more. Of course some people would probably buy more alcohol, gamble more, smoke more cigs, etc, but at least they're buying from the local community. That means more American communities would prosper instead of go down in the dumps. More jobs would be created for the local people, etc. because money is being spent there instead. It's just money that's not going to the local community, instead it's lining the pockets of the dealers and bankers/brokers and others who are involved. Yes, it's a business and people are profiting -which is fine by them, but then many communities are destroyed, esp. minority and poor white communities. When will the poor get a better life? This is supposed to be America, but it's not all that for ghetto people. Trust me, I've lived in the projects when I was a kid and it still looks like shit today as it was when I was a kid.
Most upper middle class or higher families who have members in their families that use drugs have it a lot better. That doesn't mean that their families aren't going through their problems either. They can afford to keep their neighborhoods looking nice, support their local economy, have their lifestyle and still buy their drugs. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 362452

2.45 mins was enough for me. We don't send bankers who launder the money to jail......that is total bullshit. Also suggesting that we only send the poor to jail is also bullshit. Lower income, lower responsibility, more likely to use a "illegal" drug. I will finish the movie someday.....maybe......but bullshit already. But hey, I have watch a couple Micheal Moore films, so I can handle anything.

Or maybe, just maybe small business does. Considering the last couple of wars, including the war on drugs, in the USA have been massive waste, and cost the people and the government money. The only reason the USA survives is because the majority of taxes and jobs are created by small business. I had to stop watching the show. It was making me literally sick to my stomach, and I started to jones. I used to smoke rock/crack, but havent' for some times now..but just watching people do it on the show was making my sotomach knot up..and felt like blood was rushing to my head. I didn't want to use, but my body was still reacting to what I was seeing..talk about a pavlovian response!
I haven't smoked rock in some time now, but am not part of any twelve step program because I still drink some, and smoke marijuana as often as I can. If marijuana were legal, I would probably smoke it three to four times a week instead of three to four times a month. I would probably cut way down on my drinking too.
It is simply obscene to me that crack and marijuana are placed on the same level. That is so unfair as to be ludicrous. Marijuana is actually beneficial to many, myself included. If we went only by what DOCTORS have to say, then marijuana would be legal.
It's a goood film though, and a pity I can't watch more of it than I did. |

The US followed the British in creating and forcing opium addiction on a worldwide scale by encouraging its growth, harvest and processing by the Chinese, Indian and Middle Eastern countries, bringing it to areas in which it was NEVER native but as a cash crop like tobacco in the southeastern US, Marijuana to Kansas, Missouri and many other midwestern states. Cocaine was a cash crop for the Spaniards as was chocolate and cola and a way to subdue the Native American peoples in Central and South America....One controls a country if one can control its indigenous peoples and one great way is by making the indigenous population addicts.....
We are still doing it here with both legal and illegal drugs....Merck is as bad as Jim Beam; Reynolds is as bad as the Central American Cartels..

Heroin addicts are encouraged to go on to Methadone. Methadone, a controlled substitute for heroin and other opiates is actually a worse kick (detox)...Addiction and detox from methadone can kill the user instead of being the quite uncomfortable but shorter term detox which Heroin can be...Methadone stores in the body unlike opiates do and will not wash out like opiates will (many addicts talk about it "soaking into your bones")...It embeds itself into deep tissues....Opiates wash out in a few days of wishing you were dead....BUT Methadone is approved, government controlled; controlled opiate use for treatment is not....Now answer this question - Why not?
There are treatments of substitution and detox that take only a week...proven, acceptable and are NOT discussed with addicts when seeking treatment in many of the government controlled private Methadone clinics....Why not?
Drug education that is approved through the "Just say no" programs encourage kids to narc on their parents; teach propaganda that, at times, is meant to scare kids, that is illogical and often not based in much scientific evidence (similar to the Bush plan for teaching birth control - abstinance only or his view of global warming). The approved drug education programs for youth are as much to blame for many of the drug related issues we have. Tell a 14 year old that if they take a hit from a joint it will lead them to heroin addiction and robbery and they will laugh in your face...they know it is crap...Tell that same kid that marijuana smoking, like all smoking is disasterous to your lungs when he/she has just caught you lying about the rest of your "facts", do ya think that kid is going to believe anything you say? So Drug education as taught in many of the public schools is ineffective - whether or not it is set up to fail or it fails from stupidity on the part of the educators, if one does not tell the truth to a kid, that kid will distrust the educator, the school and spread it out to justify acting out against authority...The adolescent mind at work....
Before some one gets on here all hyped about statements on educators...notice I am putting qualifiers here. NOT ALL EDUCATORS lie and NOT all educators are part of the plan to mislead but there are MANY that do NOT know the actual facts and only parrot what they are told to parrot.
In my days of "counseling", I got caught in that crap and couldn't take it any longer. Having to undo the damage of what was being done to people in the name of drug ed and drug treatment...The lies, deceit, manipulation, control and the people who were out to use the programs to punish instead of assist.
I was one of the people the system hated...I found absolutely nothing wrong with anyone doing anything as long as they did not hurt someone else; I detest legislation of morality and hate even more the leagl systems abuse of people who can not defend themselves, but our prisons are filled with people who couldn't afford a good attorney; who got on the wrong side of a cop or lawyer (or senator or president )
Many of which are "drug users" or "addicts" serving mandatory terms because they got a 1st yr lawyer from the PD office who has never defended a soul but comes out of an office in which their boss or their boss' golfing buddy is sitting on the other side of the court room acting as the prosecuter.
I saw one too many "counselors" or law enforcement officials with an axe to grind, who can and will use the programs to punish and steal the freedoms and rights from their victims
Once a person is beaten down enough times, that person will act out...if one is set up to fail and they will fail....
The occupiers, regime or conquerors perpetuate addiction to control the masses
We talk about waterboarding and can't even get this government to admit it is torture...What about the subduing of a people by creating, encouraging and maintaining addiction.......A fully legal torture.....
So much more but that's enough to digest now.
