I have been reading the linked page and book by Scott Nelson. I’m immediately struck by two problems the author has that put his entire proposal in the realm of misunderstanding.

First, he makes the audacious claim that the church has been wrong about Paul for 2000 years and further that parts of the Bible (the parts that falsify his theory) can’t be trusted.

These types of claims, that is, an appeal to special knowledge and biblical errors, are also made by other religions such as: Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Islam, and many other small religious groups. That’s a big red flag.

There is too much evidence against Nelson’s theories from Church history. For instance, we have the writings of the early church fathers (patristics), going back to those who were students of the apostles (not just Paul) and they understood that Paul was an apostle and that his teaching was in agreement with the other apostles.

For instance, a man named Polycarp was a disciple of the apostle John (See the International Standard Bible Ency., Vol. 1, Page 210). Polycarp was a leader in the early church in the latter half of the first century. He wrote a letter to the Philippians. Below is a paragraph from that letter which clearly shows the early church respect and agreement with Paul.

“These things, brethren, I write to you concerning righteousness, not because I take anything upon myself, but because ye have invited me to do so. For neither I, nor any other such one, can come up to the wisdom of the blessed and glorified Paul. He, when among you, accurately and stedfastly taught the word of truth in the presence of those who were then alive. And when absent from you, he wrote you a letter, which, if you carefully study, you will find to be the means of building you up in that faith which has been given you, and which, being followed by hope, and preceded by love towards God, and Christ, and our neighbour, “is the mother of us all.” For if any one be inwardly possessed of these graces, he hath fulfilled the command of righteousness, since he that hath love is far from all sin.”

Scott Nelson badly misunderstands scripture. For example see Chapter 7, Paul: The False Apostle, “His apostleship was unrecognized by others”. Nelson provides a foolish explanation as to why he ignores clear statements in Acts 14 about apostleship of Paul.

Nelson then explains that others only refer to Paul, using the word apostle twice in scripture. Why is that a problem? He doesn’t say. He also doesn’t mention that most of the apostles are only called apostles once or twice in scripture. Are we to doubt them too? Peter is called an apostle by others 4x in scripture. Does that mean we should only listen to him? Of course not!

I recommend that you carefully study Acts 15. Not only does it show that the church trusted Paul to straighten out a false teaching in nearby church, but the false teaching was trying to apply the Old Testament regulations to Christians. That’s the very same problem Scott Nelson has!

These Old Testament regulations in the law are not necessary anymore because they pointed toward Christ. Once Christ came, he is to be our focus, not the former things that pointed to him. That point is proved by the apostles’ behavior recorded in the Bible

Well firstly, I don't need you to tell me what water baptism is because the Bible tells us what it is and it is not hard to understand so you are talking nonsense in that regard. Secondly, I am no disciple of Scott Nelson, someone who's name I had to look up because I didn't know who he was, I am only a disciple of Yeshua and nobody else.
