When the baptizer(Elijah) comes he will not baptize with physical water. He will baptize with a new way of thinking(renew the mind), and prepare the way for the new thing that is about to come. Just as John the baptizer(spirit of Elijah) was preaching a new message that God was sending the Savior of the world, and the old sacrifices would be obsolete. Just when all the "religious people" thought they had everything figured out, God sent something new, and as the end times approach God will send something new...Not a new Savior only Jesus can save anybody, God will send one who unites the 10 lost tribes and the 2 tribes that make up geographical Israel today and lead them all to Jesus (Jews and back sliding christians) and teach them righteousness and how to make Jesus not only SAVIOR but also LORD
