Breaking: U.S. central banks may have less than half the gold they claim to possess in their vaults!
U.S. central banks may have less than half the gold they claim to possess in their vaults, charges a watchdog group in an ad scheduled for publication in the Wall Street Journal this week.

As WND reported, the Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee, or GATA, claims the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury are surreptitiously manipulating the country's gold reserves by participating in undisclosed leases, according to an advance copy WND obtained of the ad running in Thursday's edition of the Journal.

GATA believes much of the borrowed gold out on lease will never be returned to the central banks.

"With the demand for gold so strong worldwide, it has become impossible to return much of the leased gold without driving the price to the moon," said GATA's chairman, William J. Murphy III.

"Most observers calculate central bank reserves are supposed to have about 30,000 tons of gold worldwide in their vaults, but we believe the amount of gold actually there may be more like 15,000 tons," Murphy said. "The rest of the gold is gone."

And this is the problem with going back to a gold standard...

We don´t even know who has the gold. How can you base a currency on something that you dont know how much exists, who controls what does exist, how much more there is that people know about, and whether it is in fact possible to make it from other materials.

I was thinking the same thing. If going back to the gold standard is the popular idea, just how much gold is there? If any at all.
The old line "for all the gold in Fort Knox" might have to be changed if there actually isn't any there.

There is no Jewish Federal Reserve Conspiracy.......

Don't forget:

1. All 5 governors on the US Federal Reserve Board are Jews.

2. Every US Federal Reserve Chairman since its inception in 1913 has been Jew.

Funny thing with the documentary of Fort Knox some years ago, all the supposed gold stacked in those vaults ... could have been just a brick wide and up to the ceiling ... like a false wall and no one would have been the wiser.

Good point regarding no need when off the gold standard ... but then begs the question ... where is the gold and who made the sale?

You know what is really funny. Scientists have been able to CREATE new elements that are heavier than anything that has ever existed on this earth. They do this by bombarding a lesser weighted element with certain things.

If they can create a whole new and more complex element, it would seem logical that they know very well how to create more gold.

Alchemy. There was a thread about this the other day. Using common sense, it would seem like they can create gold out of lead or whatever.

This is why Nuclear Fusion Power research has been so secretitive. Using Nuclear Fusion you can turn any element into any other element and make GigaWatts of electrical power to sell all at the same time. Theoretically one could take Sand (Silicon Dioxide) and turn it into Gold in a Nuclear Fusion Breeder reactor.

When that technology is fully developed. What then will or can be used as a base for money? Gold? We may then as well use Sand as the base material for money.

That was on the TWILIGHT ZONE-bunch of guys rob gold-go to sleep into the future-then kill each other for it in the desert-until some guy in a space car drives up to help the last guy gasping going "GOLD GOLD" then he dies. Turns out the learned how to make it and the space car guy just chucks it like a rock and drives off saying he'll send someone for the dead guy.

The same can be said now about diamonds. Using new water compression techniques, they can now make diamonds that are extrememly difficult to differentiate from real diamonds.

They are probably already on the market... and I´m sure customers aren´t always told the truth.

So how do we create a currency that has real scarcity?

Any ideas?

I know this because I met a guy who works for one of the companies that does the water compression. And then I did some research on it as well.

Even more interesting is that these crystals that they can make (diamonds or whatever) can actually be used in computers. When you create such a dense structure of connections, the ability to compute massive amounts of information becomes easier. That is the same idea as someone looking into a crystal ball to see the future.

The more dense and more connections the crystal has, the easier it is to compute and theoretically "see" the future.

And why do I need to stay on the ground? Sometimes its fun to fly!

First of all, the gold belongs to the American people, not the private reserve bank. These people are criminals and should be arrested for treason.

maybe you should focus on opening your own eyes rather than trying to change someone else. You seem a little judgmental thinking that others need help and cant live their lives as they wish.

And great find with the article, Nicollo... that article deserves its own thread, i think.
