I have worked in two different kill plants in my years, one beef, one pork.
I work up the carcasses here; and cook the stuff (rather well, might I add).
I am not "complicit", as you say- I am as active as a lioness when it comes to the eating of creatures lower on the food chain.

The majority of meat that I eat comes from my own property or the wilderness just behind me. My brother and I split a side of beef from a local 'holistic' rancher once a year or so.
