Me and my buddy ride a tandem bicycle to work.

Lovers or not, I still see it as an evironmentally friendly mode of transportation.

Besides tandem bicycles, I've always thought it would be a romantic, silly thing to have tandem toilets, so lovers could swoon and sigh as they peed and pooped together, as one.

Tandems are great. me and the wife have one.

I ride to compete.But since gas went over 4 dollars, I also ride for transportation
so on my day off of training I log about 20 miles.Its getting,getting,getting kinda hectic lol.On my last training ride I ran into a lance armstrong look alike who challanged me up this steep steep mountain.He took off, I then took off grabbing his rear wheel and stayed there for about three minutes,Then he took off again.I decided to let him go and catch him on the steeper parts.Well he bonked before the over 20 percent grade 300 meter section.What a dumb ass.He pissed me off

i seen several people switch to bicycles,only this week.The roads even seems less congested.

Congrats to the OP for not being a conformist. There is nothing wrong for riding a tandem. The laughter is primarily caused by the perception/value within society which is often based on- nothing actually. Just as the auto industry wants us to believe we would be happier to drown ourselves with loans and buy a new car every 4-6 years.

Bicycles will become more and more popular in the US as people cannot afford to buy gas. No 2 ways about it.
