I post yesterday about BC15 and now I see a few more threads already, This asteroid is small and I'm sure would burn up. Anyway here is a thread to discuss all inbound or NEO coming are way since the excitement raised with TU24 I have become really interested in this subject. And a big thank you to Ice and many others I learned allot and eager and yearning for more knowledge.
This website below updates daily new found Asteroids I found interesting. Hope I can still keep learning from others and there posts.

We also have Holmes and Tuttle hanging around and the emergence of these new discoveries is quite interesting to say the least!
When is this latest small bogey going to pass? Is it tonight or tomorrow night? Might make for a nice light show if it breaks up and sends some fire-balls streaking across the sky. Spread the word and show your support!

If Holmes decides to explode again then we may be in for a treat. Space Weather reported several weeks ago that there was a chance for another explosion, but nothing yet. Many people believe the recent spike in asteroid activity is directly related to these comets in particular Comet Holmes.
The spike in magnetic activity is quite wild at the moment. Spread the word and show your support!

It's been up and down all day, pretty wild. If you run the orbit program by the 'hour' JPL lists the miss distance at .0019AU, which is extremely close. It's too small to cause any damage, but there is the chance of some debris hitting, possibly a strong sonic boom.

 | | Re: Asteroid and Comet watch thread Neo 2008 | Quote | oops, I made an error and the above mentioned asteroid has passed by earlier today. Not sure how I read that wrong as I calculated it as passing at 11pm PST, but I suppose I messed up. I have my mind running in all different directions and watching several different objects/happenings at once. Since the object has passed I wonder if it would account for the spike in magnetic activity. Seems too small, perhaps it's just normal solar activity, but seems really strong for 'normal' activity. some say these are newly found asteroids but 2007 VK184 also made a very close keyhole pass to earth on 26 May 1980. It got within 0.001213 a.u. or 113,000 miles or 181,500km, about half the distance from earth to the moon. Noone even knew it was there Its supose to be close encounter with earth in 2048.
Yea like I will be around. Ok maybe the thread will be lol |

Small Asteroids Pose Bigger Threat Than Thought
Friday, December 21, 2007
The infamous Tunguska explosion, which mysteriously leveled an area of Siberian forest nearly the size of Tokyo a century ago, might have been caused by an impacting asteroid far smaller than previously thought.
...
Now new supercomputer simulations suggest "the asteroid that caused the extensive damage was much smaller than we had thought," Boslough said.
Specifically, he and his colleagues say it would have been a factor of three or four smaller in mass and perhaps 65 feet (20 meters) in diameter.
