Subject AA form of Mind Control?

I have been attending AA for several months now. I was court mandated because I got arrested for possession of weed. Does anyone else believe it to be a form of programming/mind control? The majority of the steps are God-related. 'Come to believe in a power greater than ourselves'(AKA God). Admit we are powerless over alcohol, that we we cannot beat this on our own, being the puny humans that we are. We can only do it when we give ourselves to God's will. I believe it to be an Illuminati catch-all. I've read the Protocols of Zion and I believe the first one talks about alcoholism, keep everyone wasted and their minds blurred so they don't recognize the truth. Well what would happen if people got sober ON THEIR OWN, as they are absolutely capable of doing, and did not turn to religion to keep them in line. The veil would be lifted from their eyes. So they had to come up with something. They say 'A Power Greater Than Ourself' can be whatever you believe in but that's bullshit, they say a prayer in a circle at the end of each meeting. They have a meeting once a month called "Group Conscience!" The firt 20 minutes they read the AA ramble, I mean, preamble, every freaking meeting. It is the biggest congregation of Sheeple in one place I have seen! I told them we all had the power within us to stop our vices, and to believe in the power of you, and you would have thought I said "Hail Hitler". Just wondering if anyone else had this experience.
