There've been a number of ice ages and they're loosely tied to the Milankovitch cycle. Continental drift also affected climate (changing ocean currents), as does mountain building and the occasional supervolcano (Deccan traps, Siberian traps.) I don't have time to read a treatise. You can read basically correct information here. I'm not impressed with the links, though, as they're merely supporting comments and don't go into great depth: [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

The world's climate has been heating up and cooling down since, well, since 4 billion years ago, probably. But just to keep things simple, just explain why the last Ice Age ended 15,000 years ago. |
Lotus Feet User ID: 299977 United Kingdom 02/05/2008 10:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Global Warming? Yep. In fact, all the "globes" in our star system are warming. This is not an earth issue, it is a galactic change in temperature. Fluctuations of energy as we pass into a new field. It was once believed we were part of the Milky Way (In fact, most folks would swear to it). However, we are just beginning to be swallowed by it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1884i love satan |
