Obvious how? My dad lives in an affluent area in Texas. He says that all fast food places are understaffed. I asked where he thought all the employees went. He is conservative and thinks they are all living off of the govt. I explained that in Texas we do not have welfare, if you have zero income you can get $250 in food stamps a month only if you did not quit a job, and they are not giving out anymore stimulus. So where are they?

I went to town yesterday (pop. -24k). Whataburger was drive thru only due to staff shortage and they were hiring which indicates employee shortage not due to illness.

I understand that a lot of people are struggling, but if you have “extra” money that you would otherwise just use for leisure anyway…have a sit-down meeting with your family and decide if there is something more practical that you can put it towards:
