If they were really serious, IF green house gases really could or did produce global warming, the very first thing to do would be to cover all the oceans with siran warp to prevent the massive amount of #1 Green House gas from evaporating from the oceans. All else shows what bullshit the "human caused global warming" hoax really is. How long now before Prince Phillip turns into a virus and QEII becomes a widow? |

Actually, this poster is correct, except they left out a few points of information that can really make a difference to this formula. 1. CO2 is the third greenhouse gas. It lasts in the air for a little over 100 years. 2. Methane has a greater greenhouse effect, making it number 2 on the list. It lasts in the air for about 8 years. 3. Water vapor does indeed come in at number one for greenhouse gases... And last about four days in the air. A small co2 effect and a medium methane effect can increase heat. The increase in temperature leads to more water vapor in the air... Increasing the temperatures more. Luckily that water vapor also pulls some heat from the atmosphere each day. So all we are really looking at is the increase in methane and co2. Methane really should be the first thing we look into, having the biggest effect fastest... |

Quoting: XareThe only solution they offer is to Kill you off. So far they have not openly suggested that. I DO think that this is part of the long term goal of those in power, behind the scenes however. As I mentioned above, Methane makes much more sense to control, since it moves out of the air faster than co2, has a larger net warming effect, and humans are currently responsible for almost 50% of it being placed in the air. We would have to all go vegetarian to make it work, but if people are serious about this, that would be the suggestion I have. Stop raising cows. Do we need to look for better energy solutions too? Of course. There are a hundred good reasons to, outside of Global Warming! But if we run into a real Global Warming Catastrophe on the horizon, then we CAN do something about it, within a decade. |

Methane really should be the first thing we look into, having the biggest effect fastest... One small point, water evaporating produces a cooling even chilling effect. Same thing with ice melting. Both events while caused by increased heat end up cooling things down. Second thing, CO2 is much denser than Nitrogen and Oxygen, hence except for atmospheric mixing all the CO2 would remain at the lower levels of the atmosphere crowding out the Oxygen, except Oxygen just loves to react to the closest thing handy. Methane is the one to really watch for. But to get rid of the Earth's methane production, at least to stop it in the bio-sphere would require the extinction of all life on Earth. Large pockets of atmospheric methane with plenty of excess oxygen hanging around is a massive firestorm just waiting to happen. In a very local sense, that would be very intense Local Warming. We need to get a good scientific handle on the way methane works on Titan, the information will come in very handy. And for the record Plantlife is a great CO2 sink. Reforest the entire surface of the planet where at least the water cycle will continue to support it and watch the C02 levels drop dramatically. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 322692 02/08/2008 06:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I did point out that water vapor takes heat out of the atmosphere there... :) However, this has largely been accounted for in the models. What has not been accounted for is how much feedback systems will effect this situation in the future. As for having to stop all life on Earth to curb methane... Say what? We just need to cut back, not stop it all silly! Just the parts that we don't need, such as meat and dairy cows will have a giant impact on this. I agree with the plants and co2. Reforestation is key here. Plus, who hates trees? |
