I think the term hyperinflation is thrown around way too liberally. In hyperinflation people are literally trying to figure out new ways to cope with massive price increases from week to week even day by day. Store shelves are empty because merchants lose money on every sale. There are typically high rates of employment. People's wages increase frequently and rapidly and yet they still lag far behind inflation (the US wage has not increased in 40+ years). The government is index inflation on private loans.
So we are not in hyperinflation yet by a longshot. This is closer to STAGFLATION I think.
