On 20 Jun 2006 I wrote to USGS the next email when I notice first time in 3 years we reach the 300 EQ for a week, on that time the over activity was almost on the Aleutians islands, now is in BC Mex.

please excuse my English. I have been checking this site for more than 3 years now.... I witness the increment on the seismic activity after the earthquake in Asia on Dec. 26/04. Then from Nov 2005 to end beginning of Feb 2006 it was an stop on the wobbler of the Earth (Chandlers wobble) when the movement start again the seismic activity increase again. On June 12 the seismic activity almost totally stop for more than 24 hours around the world and start again with a heavy increase on Alaska and west coast. Keeping the 99% of activity in the Aleutians Islands Alaska. Today for first time we reach 308 earthquakes in a week on this page. Can you confirm with me the increase of sismic activity... and also tell me if the concentration of activity on the Aleutians Islands for days happens before? Thank you....

And this is the answer they give me... how can they told me there was no increase on activity... I check that site many times at day since December 26 2003

There has been no change in the overall rate of seismic activity globally. The increase in seismic activity that I believe you are seeing is aftershocks associated with larger earthquakes in various areas. The Aleutian Islands area is especially active. The USGS estimates that several million earthquakes occur in the world each
year. Many go undetected because they hit remote areas or have very small
magnitudes. The NEIC now locates about 50 earthquakes each day, or about
20,000 a year.

As more and more seismographs are installed in the world, more earthquakes
can be and have been located. However, the number of large earthquakes
(magnitude 6.0 and greater) have stayed relatively constant.
