Thank you. Let's remove the fear and shame that holds these kids prisoners to the abuse.

We can help them heal by letting them know we believe them, we know this is happening, and not ignoring the issue.

The only thing ugly about it is the evil behind the act. But it is not so ugly we cannot or should not look at it.

I know a family man who raised 6 kids and chose to take the oldest stepdaughter as his lover when she was preteen. She left home at 16.

Now, 30 years later the family has found out. But none of them had any idea that this was going on so many years ago and there was much anger about the fact that what happened was being discussed, but little anger at the perpetrator because he had been a fairly good dad. They were all afraid to talk about it or think about it.

We should not be afraid to discuss this! It is the only way we can stop the cycle.
