Witchcraft is NOTHING like Harry Potter. Harry Potter is a fantasy piece that (if anything) shows that Rowling knows about fairy tales and Merlin and the old English legends and hasn't a clue in the world about the occult.

Or Witchcraft.

I've been Wiccan since the late 60's, and none of the shamanistic stuff with Terence McKenna or the occasional odd trip out of reality with Issac Bonewitz EVER came close to anything proposed by Rowling.

Why are children turning away from Christianity? It's because of the mindset (as proclaimed by many) that it's okay to tell sappy little morality tales (like "the professor and God", a retold Jack Chick tract) and rant against others while holding the Bible true. The minute a kid runs into a real prof and a real class; the minute they hit a site like [link to www.skepticsannotatedbible.com] and start actually READING the Bible, the more they move away from that mind-controlled mindset.

I've encouraged my children to watch and read Harry Potter. It didn't take much convincing, the stories are great and they're perfect for kids' imagination. I am deeply into the occult and have been for over 35 years. You, and people like you, are sad.

There is power in the Occult.

You can choose light or darkness.

The pagan elements were incorporated into Catholicism AFTER Rome took over a large portion of the institutional church in the 4th century.

Whatever the Catholics did does not change the core truth of Christianity one iota.

First of all, I have three degrees from secular universities.

I am not uneducated.

And I have found that once people get truly educated about the evidence that they are more likely to turn to Christianity.
