OP, you are correct in that many people are afraid. It crosses my mind, too. But, since I have written my congressman and senators so many times, it is a moot point by now. I am likely on a database.

But, I still think there is hope if fear does not stop people from acting on their conscience.

So, what´s the answer? If the calls don´t help anything, and doing nothing doesn´t help anthing, how about going to the media and causing a big stir? Many people have changed their views when they know they´re looking bad in front of everyone. Then, if anything happens to you at least we´ll have an idea of who did it.

Yeah, that and laziness.

You know the best way to attack these people is to hit them where it hurts, the pocket book. Do not buy anything unless it is a dire need item. Start saving your money instead so you can spend it later. Start getting to work the cheapest way possible. Car pool so everybody buys less fuel. Take your vacations close to home. This should only take a year or maybe two to pull off if it took that long.

I know especially during this time of year it is hard not to rush out and buy everything in sight. But, if we all stopped buying right now and kept that frame of thought going, we would win.

They cannot survive without our money. Although individually we cannot do much, together we could shut the whole shooting match down. In actuality it would be better for us because we would then be forced to save. Then after all is said and done you would then have enough surplus to purchase anything you want, without a loan. Or, you could pay off your credit line. The main thing is not to buy or pay off anything until the mission is accomplished. Although I would not suggest bankruptcy, enough people do it and that would hurt them even more.

We plain and simply cannot pull off a revolution of the normal sort without a lot of bloodshed. There are too many fat lazy people that would roll over in a heart beat at the first sign of trouble. Holding our cash is the only way to strike back. Someone suggesting not to pay income taxes might be illegal, but then again so are the income taxes. Witholding taxes should be held as a last resort if it were something to consider. You would have to know that the rest of the country was behind it. Just a few hundred thousand would all end up in jail. You will know when you are ready for that kind of commitment when the news is talking about how sales in America have dropped dramatically. If we cannot pull off the stop buying plan, we cannot pull off the stop paying taxes plan.

So, bottom line is if you really want to do something non-violent and the most effective, STOP BUYING THEIR CRAP, STOP BUYING THEIR CONTROL OVER YOU, STOP BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS. There is nothing illegal about it. There is nothing wrong with it. You stand only to profit in savings (that you can spend when we have control again), cutting your own debt, having control of your life again. Your choice is to be in debt to them or be in debt to yourself. We cannot when as long as we carry someone else´s debt. I do not remember giving Congress, the Senate, or the White House permission to spend more than we have. If we spent that much over on our own money flow we would end up in jail. They are all basically millionares on our sweat let them pay the debt themselves since they voted it in themselves.
