THE SHOOTDOWN HAS CREATED A "massive cloud of metallic shards travelling at 5 miles per second"!! 10:30 cst me and my brother saw a very faint light 'contrail' looking thing high up in the clear sky. Quoting: InsomniaI saw it quite distinct in the sky around 9pm to 10pm from Toronto, Canada (looking towards the moon eclipse) It was a white streak heading towards the moon yup. what was the original path of the satellite. sounds just like what i saw, kind of going past the moon. are you EST or CST? you may have saw it quickly after me, although we might have seen it at the same time because i'ts moving incredibly fast. I'm EST. I thought it looked so bizarre that I stood out in sub zero weather staring at it. Streaked across the sky looking south east from Toronto and the streak of white was heading towards the moon from West to East. |

THE SHOOTDOWN HAS CREATED A "massive cloud of metallic shards travelling at 5 miles per second"!! I just got in from skywatching. I'm in TC's 45n93w. Might have gone out a couple minutes late. It's frikken 10 below zero out there! Sky is crystal clear except for extremely long horizontal cloud bands that stretch from WNW to ESE as far as I can see in both directions. Like contrails in a wide band of multiple streaks across roughly 1/8 the width of the visible sky. The moon(it's back) is making some of them shine a with an almost electric glow - reminding me of northern lights. Weird night. Quoting: Skandahusker 330765 |

The Navy hopes that any pieces of the satellite that do not burn will land in the ocean." [link to www.foxnews.com] and I think, why we couldn't just pick that satellite by the Space shuttle and fix it in the cargo bay, or just shred the secret evidence... we are able to fly outside ISS and fix solar panels, retrieve and return to earth another satellites, why this one need to be killed? anybody have explanation? .caruso |

The single biggest reason you don't do a shuttle mission is you can't get the shuttle to a 58.5 degree orbit. There are a number of other reasons, but that is the big swinger. And, the spacecraft that was destroyed was not a NASA mission. Did everyone forget that? |

Then no one would have any. Quoting: NightWispThe laws of physics make that a very silly, and utterly unworkable idea.
