One of the pillars of the "Checks and Balance" was broken by the 17th Amendment. It was a very stupid thing to do, as it created a system in which the nation government would simply now be empowered to turn the States into merely administrative districts for the National government, hence ending the true federalism that the original (with the Bill of Rights) Constitution had laid down. Certainly one of the steps to get back closer to the heart of what this Republic was meant to be is to repeal the 17th Amendment.



Very interesting point. I am going to need to do some reading. This repeal of the 17th Amendment sounds intriguing if it is true, that it would bring us closer, to the Constitutional Republic the Bill of Rights was founded upon.
