The fact that you don't like someone does NOT make him the "Antichrist."

My best guess is that it is not likely that Barack Obama is the Antichrist.

However, if the Book of Revelation is NOT prophetic, but rather was composed as"resistance literature"( as some historians say ) against Nero, then it is past history, and just allegorical.

Still, my reading of it DOES indicate that it is intended to foretell the future.

There are two things that I feel are quite important when dealing with "the last days."

1) As of Pentecost found in Acts 2, Peter clearly points to something many people just seem to miss.

"But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
‘ And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,.."

From this we can or should see that Peter is pretty clear in identifying what was happening then as that which a Prophet had declared would happen in the "last days". Not second to last. Not almost last, but simply the last days. Last is simply that. The last days of Gods dealing with man started then and can end any time.

2) As of the things spoken of by John in Revelation he starts with.

"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place."

He wrote to specific congregations in Asia and told those reading that these things must shortly take place. Not 2,000 years later as that is not shortly nor would it be fitting for those he addressed.

We know of the persecutions that set in at that time.

Two verses later...

"Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near."

It was on them then and the Book provided much assurance should they be victorious over the events that were unfolding.

I know many folks don't hold that, but it is what it says.
