Watch this video: You know, if i was to design the universe, i would make nothing "out of our control" just increasingly difficult to control but with a path to solve every single problem no matter how hard or long the path. That way the reward at the end its always equal to the effort you put in and nothing is imossible, and everything has meaning and value. But the real world is not like that... This is hell. If that's the way you want to look at it... Man does not own his house, his house owns him. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 380178Attachment to material things never brings happiness. True this, because an attachment to material things is really an ego booster. When the thrill wears off, you have actually spent a portion of your self-esteem. Then you go out and buy something else to make you "feel" better, and you have spent another portion of your self-esteem. Eventually, there's no self-esteem left no matter how many things you buy. However, I have a feeling that you are not talking about material things, but maybe relationships? (I haven't read this thread beyond this post). But the same thing applies. You continue to "spend" your self-esteem in these relationships to the detriment of your wholeness. Maybe you expect someone else to fill these holes that you, yourself, created? You must be filled with inner knowledge that you are whole and complete just as you are, and that's called love of SELF. Any relationship, then, becomes an enhancement not a replacement. Think about it, dear one. |

I already knew that Uh . . . not unless you can come through the internet and make me, And if you knew people who actually did use that stuff to get away from reality and depression, you would understand it as sarcasm. You also would realize that sometimes dark humor is a great way to bring yourself out of a depression. But no, you just happen to be unlucky enough to be born a sea cucumber with the personality and humor to match. No wonder you're depressed. If I were you I'd feel the same. Oh and honey, I have been depressed before and with an actual reason other than, "my car was keyed." or, "my nail broke." Dreams will begin as they fade into chaos. |

I assure you there is much more legal/illegal money in 10 pounds of child pornography/slavery than in ten pounds of controlled substances such as the ones you described above. I can assure you the King is worth much more than his cook or his kitchen manager. I say if it is your desire to be a criminal marry for money and love the pool boy. If you have money if you choose you are then able to have both worlds. Just a thought. I come in Peace. I leave in Peace. May you to find Peace. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 370334 United States 03/04/2008 08:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have fought depression and the best thing to do is not what you really want to do. Quoting: Ice1- take a shower 2- clear your thoughts period - don't think at all 3- look for the best movie you can find 4- if you mom is alive go have a talk 5- if anyone you know has small children go visit and just watch the children. think about simple things like the play of children. 6- I will leave you with this, it's never as bad as you think and all you need is a small ray of light to walk small steps at a time toward! Greetings, I come In Peace. This is the best advise I have read. I hate being depressed. Knowledge gives power. So, since I do suffer from periods of depression I pay attention to classic signs. The first. It seems all I want to do is sleep. Second I no longer care about my personal hygiene. Third I begin to isolate. This allows me to think more thoughts. It then becomes a downward spiral. If you are an individual who suffers from depression know this what you feel is real. It is not comfortable. More than likely it will not just go away. So what do I do when things are not comfortable. I change it. I get up. I take a shower,I brush my teeth. I take care of me. I look in the mirror I see the good as well as the bad. I focus on the good. I make my good gooder. I leave the bad behind. I tell myself just how cool I am. I convince myself. This convinces others. I clear my thoughts. If you are as myself and cannot sit thru a movie do what I am doing right now. Communicate do not isolate. I have no clocks in my house. I have one large clock on my front porch. The neighbors use it also as a time piece. In my home if you are (depending on the circumstance)asking the time. Well, sir there is a clock on the front porch may I suggest you get a breath of not so fresh air. I come in Peace. I now leave in Peace. May you to find Peace. |
