Quoting: Winningjob 385114ENFP here. I use Myers-Briggs in my business. Not necessarily to place employees, rather how my managers and I package information best for the type. It does help us to determine which employees will work better with each other (complimentary) on various parts of a given project. MoS |

Actually I must confess we are all pretty cool folks in general!! Here we are, all on line, because, at least for me, no one in my part of the world wants to hear what I have to say, what I know, and how I perceive things. I am lonely and depressed. I think too much and I have no one to share it with. This is not always a great place to be. My J score was 1! Is there anyone else here that cuts others that much slack? Anonymous Coward User ID: 333742 United States 03/13/2008 10:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | INTPs INTP types are quiet, thoughtful, analytical individuals who don't mind spending long periods of time on their own, working through problems and forming solutions. They are very curious about systems and how things work, and are frequently found in careers such as science, architecture and law. INTPs tend to be less at ease in social situations and the caring professions, although they enjoy the company of those who share their interests. They also tend to be impatient with the bureaucracy, rigid hierarchies, and politics prevalent in many professions, preferring to work informally with others as equals.[1] INTPs organize their understanding of any topic by articulating principles, and they are especially drawn to theoretical constructs—such as the MBTI. Having articulated these principles for themselves, they can demonstrate remarkable skill in explaining complex ideas to others in simple terms, especially in writing. On the other hand, their ability to grasp complexity may also lead them to provide overly detailed explanations of "simple" ideas, and listeners may judge that the INTP makes things more difficult than they are. This to the INTP, however, is incomprehensible: they are merely presenting all of the information.[1] INTPs' extroverted intuition gives them a quick wit, especially with language, and they can defuse the tension in gatherings by comical observations and references. They can be charming, even in their quiet reserve, and are often astounded by the high esteem in which their friends and colleagues hold them.[1] An insulted INTP, however, has a tendency to unveil their full mastery of logical intuition. Many previously secure, confident people have been left crushed by an INTP's sudden and piercingly accurate criticism. After such an incident, the INTP is as likely to be as devastated as the recipient; they have broken the rules of debate and exposed their irrational emotions. This to an INTP is the crux of the problem: emotions are to be dealt with in a logical manner, as improperly handled they can only harm. INTJs INTJs are very analytical individuals. Like INTPs, they are more comfortable working alone than with other people, and are not usually as sociable as others, although they are prepared to take the lead if nobody else is up to the task, or they see a major weakness in the current leadership. They tend to be very pragmatic and logical individuals, often with an individualistic bent and a low tolerance for spin or rampant emotionalism. They are also commonly not susceptible to catchphrases and commonly do not recognize authority based on tradition, rank or title. “ INTJs are strong individualists who seek new angles or novel ways of looking at things. They enjoy coming to new understandings. They are insightful and mentally quick; however, this mental quickness may not always be outwardly apparent to others since they keep a great deal to themselves. They are very determined people who trust their vision of the possibilities, regardless of what others think. They may even be considered the most independent of all of the sixteen personality types. INTJs are at their best in quietly and firmly developing their ideas, theories, and principles.[3] ” Hallmark features of the INTJ personality type include independence of thought, strong individualism and creativity. Persons with this personality type work best given large amounts of autonomy and creative freedom. They harbor an innate desire to express themselves; that is to be creative by conceptualizing their own intellectual designs. Analyzing and formulating complex theories are among their greatest strengths. INTJs tend to be well-suited for occupations within academia, research, management, engineering and law. Differentiating the INTJ personality type from the related INTP type is their confidence. They tend to be acutely aware of their knowledge and abilities. Thus, they develop a strong confidence in their ability and talents, making them "natural leaders." It is this confidence that makes this personality type extremely rare. According to David Keirsey it is found in no more than 1% of the population. In forming relationships, INTJs tend to seek out others with similar character traits and ideologies. Agreement on theoretical concept is an important aspect of a relationship. By nature INTJs tend to be demanding in their expectations and approach relationships in a very rational manner. As a result, an INTJ may not always respond to a naturally occurring infatuation but wait for a mate who better fits his or her set criteria. Persons with this personality type are very stable, reliable and dedicated. Harmony in relationships and home life tends to be extremely important to the INTJ. He or she tends to withhold strong emotion and does not like to "waste" time with irrational social rituals. This, however, may cause non-INTJs to perceive him or her as distant and reserved. INFJ According to Keirsey,[4] INFJ Counselors are quiet, private individuals who prefer to exercise their influence behind the scenes. Intensely interested in the well-being of others, Counselors prefer one-on-one relationships to large groups. Sensitive and complex, they are adept at understanding complicated issues and driven to resolve differences in a cooperative and creative manner. Accounting for about two percent of the population, Counselors have a vivid inner life that they may be reluctant to share with those around them. Perceptive of the emotions of others, Counselors are themselves easily hurt, though they may not reveal this except to their closest companions. INFJs are affable people. They are generally well-liked by their peers and are thought of as close friends and confidants by most other types. It is difficult for INFJs to let their guard down, which in turn makes it difficult for them to establish close relationships with strangers and new people. According to Keirsey,[citation needed] INFJs are magnetically drawn to the ESTP and especially to the ENTP personality types because they see their complement in these types. The INFJ and ENTP might not get along as friends because of the INFJ's more pronounced sensitivity, but they may be a good match for intimate relationships because of the ENTP's willingness to be sensitive and concede their stubborn ways to the INFJ in relationships. As with other personality types, INFJs can be compatible with a number of different types. |

Powerful INFJs present universally valid answers to life and thus we are traditionally the ones that set the cultural and social tone, generally getting revenge on the world by forcing them to take our issues seriously as well :) Consider the problem of industry and global warming, and many INFJ's finidng the conflict between their own productive side and more value based side, the trend is nigh on universal. Other people may find the facts, and implement the ideas, but we tell them what it means to do so! |

My opinion on any of those questions might change depending on how I feel at the moment. Sounds like bullshit. Quoting: Ignatius J. Reilly 385864In the land of testing, you are quite right re: self-administered tests. Is the person answering objectively, subjectively or how they hope to be. However, with the MBTI it's been shown to be pretty reliable over time, though people can move slightly on some the dimensions, but usually not as dimensions, and in general it holds over time. |

They have tremendous charisma by which many are drawn into their nurturant tutelage and/or grand schemes. Many ENFJs have tremendous power to manipulate others with their phenomenal interpersonal skills and unique salesmanship. But it's usually not meant as manipulation -- ENFJs generally believe in their dreams, and see themselves as helpers and enablers, which they usually are. They are also total asses to talk to. Caught up in their own self worth, they think the world revolves around them. Blinded by the glitter of their world view, they rarely see clear cut evidence as having any meaning in proving or disproving anything. Right up until the moment when they hit that tree.
