Most media is bound by laws or ethics to disclose the owner's interest in things that the particular media discusses.
Financial tv channels are bound to say what there connections are to other companies they talk about. They are also required to disclose any ownership in stocks they have analysts discuss.
Here, at this forum, the owners hide their connections and agendas by refusing the topic to be discussed and they certainly don't volunteer any information.
This is highly unethical in the media world. This IS a media site, yet it is run with secrecy and bias.
If the moderators here want more respect, they should give the users more respect by disclosing their connections to different agendas.
For example, this site often pumps up gold and silver through the moderators' pins. The users have no idea if the mods have a financial interest in this... and that is just the obvious stuff.
What religion are the moderators? What groups do they belong to or support? The users deserve this knowledge to make informed decisions of the possibility of bias in pinned threads or moderator comments. It is the site's ethical duty to provide this information.
I hope that the mods will listen to this advice and show a little respect to their fellow posters. |
