Help! Cold/flu remedies/comforts safe for pregnancy
Hi,all. I'm pregnant and will have my baby Friday (induction). I have a terrible cold virus that feels like the flu. My doc has okayed Robitussin and Tylenol and Vicks Vaporub for medicines.

Can anyone help me figure out some ways (non medicinal and safe) to make myself more comfy and get rid of the congestion and exhaustion? I'm resting and doing liquids.

it could be you are in the early stages of labor as well - I always felt like i was getting a cold then boom 1-2 days later - the baby came. Happened with all 3 kids.
Drink as much as you can so you don't get stuffy.
"Sleepytime"tea by celestial seasonongs has peppermint which will make your head feel better and chammomile which will relax you.

best of luck

SAMBUCOL!! (health food store.. it will work wonders and 100% natural)
Tablespoon x4/day

safe for pregnancy (especially late in pregnancy)

You can also do benadryl to help you sleep. I did when i was pregnant.
(doc said it was ok.. and from my researched on the net.. it is safe)

Oscillococcinum

Recommended by my midwife, homeopathic and completely safe for you and baby.

Then go see a homeopathic physician to get clearing remedies for the drugs you get at the hospital for you and baby.

Get lots of sleep, lots of water, put your feet up and don't do anything except pamper yourself.

I would think breathing Oil of Oregeno in steam would be safe and effective. I would research it first, being pregnant. But would think it would be much safer than any drug.

Rub the soles of your feet with Vicks and put socks on.
Sounds stupid-but it works.

YES! This stuff works really well and is very safe. I always keep it on hand. SAMBUCOL is great. It's available at health food stores, or google it and order it online.
