The purpose and meaning of life
I found something recently that is in accordance with a conclusion I have been working towards; that consciousness and matter are integral components of the universe. One cannot exist without the other. Each of us contains a spark of God's consciousness and together we constitute the body of God, like individual cells in its body. God (or whatever other term you wish to use) drives evolution of matter AND consciousness in its attempt to express itself with greater articulation and understanding and intent.

I know it will appear as "new age" to many of you but I believe it is as old as civilzation itself and we've merely forgotten it or have had it trained out of us by old, crusty, fabricated mythologies/religions. In any event, it will ring as true for some of you as it did with me.

"The purpose of life is the raising of consciousness, of which we are composed. This Universal Aim is not of our own making, but is a reflection of the Intent of that which is known as God. It is the Intent of God to Manifest Itself in the highest possible forms, into the matrix of atoms, everywhere upon the physical plane. God does this so as to express Itself there, and improve Its own nature even further. Thus, we are manifestations of the Intent of God, to evolve Itself through the agency of matter. Our own motivation to grow, expand and evolve, is a reflection of the Divine Intent to do the very same thing. We are an outgrowth of the Evolution of God. To employ the Intent of perpetual raising, is therefore to act in accordance with the purposes of natural law. To put this another way, it is to act in accord with the will of God to evolve. When we recognize this Truth, we then become the agents of Divine Intention, and also catalysts for the furtherance of human evolution. The acceleration of human consciousness, results also in the furtherance of the evolution of the Earth Mind/Noosphere, or planetary consciousness in general. "

Survival Through Information

That statement is true on all levels of creation. Nothing can remain stationary, it has to constantly be in motion to survive, and in order to be in motion, it must be recieveing and transmitting information/energy.

As for the purpose of life,
as part of enlightenment,
we are to

evolve our consciousness

& grow into our god-self...

Of the seven stars and the solar year,
Of Caesar's hand, and Plato's brain
Of Lord Christ's heart, and Shakespeare's strain.

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Strong is the soul, and wise, and beautiful
The seeds of godlike power are in us still;
Gods are we, Bards, Saints, Heroes, if we will.

~Matthew Arnold

We never know how high we are,
Till we are called to rise,
and then, if we are true to plan,
Our statures touch the skies.

~Emily Dickinson

Thou art become my greater self
Small bounds no more can me confine
Thou hast my being taken on
And shall I not now take on thine?

It is wisdom to know others
It is enlightenment to know one's self.

Re: The purpose and meaning of life

The purpose of life is to celebrate living,
& help others in need by loving & giving
all that we can... & then to give more.
Think this is a big part of what we're here for.

Another reason we're here is to learn.
Life is a classroom; each lesson a turn
to transmute any obstacle causing us loss
into a stepping stone while discarding the dross...
& finding the gold, when given the chance,
in any place, object or hap circumstance.

Evolving our consciousness is also a goal,
as is the union of dualistic opposites/poles
where all is healed & then made whole
through a synergistic synthesis of syzygy.

Another purpose, it seems to me,
for us being in life, is so we will see
that we each create our own reality...
Love or Fear... which choice will it be?

No matter the question, it seems quite clear,
the answer is love, so we must give up fear
in illusory space-time of the now & here
cuz we have nothing to lose, no matter how dear;
when we cling to nothing, we have nothing to fear.

So, whenever i feel a fear or doubt
creeping in, instead of looking out,
i choose to only look within
to see the spark of light... & know again...
LOVE is all i am, will be, have ever been.

In life, if *LOVE* is all we are... & show,
'pass it on' to others as we onward go,
& when in need of help, we look within,
we'll soon be on our way back home again.
