Why do we ever move military assets around in the region?

Her visit is an excuse to flex on China for all the flexing they've been doing on Taiwan since Russia invaded Ukraine.

Or it's just a bad idea and they don't have any of that in mind but it serves that purpose regardless.

Facts are that Russia only looks weaker than originally thought after their invasion and that perception is going to extend to China.

Taiwan is supposedly saying prepare for war probably not out of fear of China but probably because they're scared a little less.

And to my knowledge Taiwan is a much better fighting force than Ukraine and their island is much better defended.

China would have to exhaust a large portion of their supply of medium range missiles to avoid heavy losses and that's a huge disadvantage to them if they come into conflict with the U.S.

It's perfectly possible Russia and China even had an agreement that Russia would attack first to test reaction and China would attack second.

But that doesn't change the war has been an outright disaster for Russia. And if China still plans on invading, we would see the troop buildup months ahead of time just like with Russia. An invasion of Taiwan is basically a mini-Normandy.

Unless they just bomb them into submission, but they're not "supposed" to do that, as we've seen with Russia.

There is nothing Nancy Pelosi needs to say in Taiwan that couldn’t be said on the phone by someone far more articulate than her.

So let’s look at this another way.

The Western Globalists want to cut Russia off economically very badly. They are having trouble doing this when China (and others) refuse to go along, and especially when they continue buying Russian oil.

Maybe Nancy is sending China a message that the US will interfere in Taiwan if China doesn’t fall into line on Russia.

The West is deeply embarrassed that they couldn’t bully Russia into submission. The fact that all of Europe has to basically scrap their “climate change” progress and fire back up their coal, nuclear, etc., to keep the lights on, is having them gnash their teeth and rend their garments.

They look like fools. And they don’t like that.

So now they’re going to bully China and expect a different outcome.

I very much doubt they get one.

That is another very good question. Maybe the calculation was to send someone higher up the ladder to show how serious the threat is.

Or maybe they felt they needed someone with more name recognition than Blinken (who I guarantee 9 of 10 Americans have never heard of). Everything the Left does is scripted for their propaganda media outlets, so a known name is better.

Biden and Kamala are big names, but neither could pull this kind of trip off.

The point it, tho, there’s no other reasonable explanation for why this is happening, and happening now, except for Russia.

This is a very expensive trip, military escorts with fighter planes don't come cheap.

I spent over 20 in uniform. I got to attend a classified brief at the National Defense University years ago when I was working staff there, and I do mean YEARS ago, 1991.
What was shared about the true and real strength at that time of Russia shocked me, it was just after the cold war.
Russian pilots were lucky to get 4 hours of training a month and their nuke subs were wasting away in port, so much so they were worried about the reactors more than any military action.

I can only say, what they tell us sometimes - is far from the picture of reality of what is happening.

We are throwing money at Ukraine right now, and that cocky bastard running the place even went on record to bash Americans as lazy, while using our tax dollars like they are funny money.

what this proves, beyond a doubt IMO, is that an aging state representative has more clout than the current Sec of State or VP.

I can absolutely confirm in my time in uniform, I knew of - or witnessed firsthand and personally only a tiny fraction but lying about that fraction was fact.

But remember that in 1991 we were only less than 10 years out from the fall of the Soviet Union. They fell because they were broke.

In the following decades they became very rich again. Not superpower rich, but not some backwater the Left could push around either. Truth be told, I have my doubts about our own force strength in this new Woke world.

This miscalculation on Russia has plastered egg over the faces of a lot of Western leaders. They are straight up going to lose this and be forced to go hat in hand to beg Putin for oil if they can’t find a way to vanquish him.

China might be a desperate Hail Mary play. Beating their chests and threatening other countries with “consequences” is certainly their M.O.

We have to remember that for China, just about nothing matters more than their claim on Taiwan. They’ve made this abundantly clear over the years, and they’re so sensitive about it that they banned the new Top Gun movie in all of China because Tom Cruise would not remove the Taiwan patch from the original flight jacket that appeared in this remake.

At the moment, nothing is more dear to the WEF crowd than bringing Russia to heel and especially removing Putin from power. China is in the way.

The ONE thing they could threaten China with to gain their cooperation, is Taiwan.

If you want to deliver that threat in a serious way, you need a high level person.

Granted, Pelosi is a ridiculous choice, but who else do they have? They cannot trust Biden or Harris not to screw it up. That leaves Nancy.

I doubt the Chinese take this seriously, but they will be DEEPLY offended.

I think it is desperation. You know the West must’ve worked all the back channels trying to get China on board with their jihad against Russia, and we know this has failed. China has been very public about their support of Russia.

I also think this is arrogance. The Left in America (and to some extent Europe) has a bad habit of overestimating themselves and underestimating opponents.
