Free Will or Fate - the Curse of Cassandra
When I posted recently about the Nostradamus prophecy concerning the Messiah appearing in 2008, there was a post which asked about free will and fate. More specifically if a prophet like Nostradamus can see the future so clearly, does that mean we do not have the power to avoid such a fate.

The fact is that if prophecies were believed then mankind would avoid the fates. Those of us with the misfortune to be born with a degree of clairvoyance (mis-termed the gift of prophecy) can vouch for the fact that we are all cursed, like Cassandra, not to be believed. Especially Nostradamus.

Cassandra was given the 'gift' by Apollo, the God of prophecy. She was the daughter of the King of Troy. When however she upset Apollo he cursed her, that she should always tell the truth but never be believed. And this is what stops prophecy short circuiting fate. Like most prophets she had a sad life. So did Nostradamus, so have I and all other clairvoyants I know.

If you look back at my post about 08.08.08 (actually any of the posts I have placed here over the years) you will see how it works on GLP. My post is immediately followed by a couple of pages of drivel - people posting about throwing toys out of the pram etc. Just the kind of response you can expect here, which helps to ensure that any truth and insight is drowned in a torrent of rubbish, or sometimes abuse. So it is in the world.

After the event, of course, it all changes and people can see that the predictions were accurate. So with Nostradamus. Those who lived with him did not believe him until it had all happened. There will always be a few who will understand and possibly believe, but not enough to actually change what the prophet foresaw.

The clairvoyant technique is another factor. If he/she is seeing through the eyes of someone living now and trying to describe what they have seen, there are all sorts of problems with translation and publication. And like Cassandra, persecution and even execution. Nostradamus was in constant trouble with the Inquisition. As are most modern day truth telling clairvoyants. The fakes of course are highly revered, well paid and published widely. Only after it has all gone wrong does it become apparent. Revelation by the way is an anagram of 'I reveal not'.

Yes the 'Messiah' will appear in Asia around 08.08.08 according to the great man. So not long to find out if he is right or not, not long enough to do anything about it.

Or expect hundreds, if not hundreds of thousands, of wannabe messiahs to book their tickets to the Games. That is another predictable response to such a prophecy. In GLP terms these are the posts - 'he means me' with names like Son of David, Righteous etc. Should be fun.
