i am a male cosmetologist. but i didnt really want or think i would ever be one. i had allways been in construction growing up around it n in shops welding n working on cars but school wasnt my thing n didnt think i would ever like colege but my parents tricked me they took me to this cosmetology school n there was like 20 hot chicks going there i was like i can handle this :). but i got in i lil trouble with a few of them lol but not all are gay because i am far from it. i know a bunch of them that are but i am very sure of my sexuality and a born again christian i was raised to love god n women so thats just what i do but i am guilty of lovin a bunch of women when i should have just had one but loved the wild ones n they made me a lil wild. but i still injoy construction n heavy equipment i do it as much as i can for my family n inlaws but hair is easy money i am my own boss work when ever i want n make about 50 bucks a hour n thats not bad for where i live and in the ac n get to work on and look at women all day n i love that its better then working with a bunch of dudes all day god bless

my neighbor is a male hairstylist. he lives with a woman, but they're not married and they have nothing to do with each other. he acts gay, and she acts like a dyke. i've seen these odd relationships before where queers get together and develop some sort of financial partnership that is devoid of any kind of affection at all. the same situation was going on next door where i used to live too. swishy guys living with rosie odonnell looking women is some kind of thing, i don't know what the hell it's all about.

i know one other male hair stylist, who is a best friend of my dad's, and i'm pretty certain he is not gay. but maybe they blow each other on saturdays, who the hell knows.

I'm not gay, and I'm a male, and I'm a hair stylist. I'll say, though, that in this industry I'm a bit of a minority. Most are women, and of the men in the industry (at least where I am) I'd guess 75% of them are gay, but that number is changing, thanks in part to this new economy that has placed higher value on "the job" and lower value on the gender role applied to it (case in point, the sharp rise in male registered nurses). It's not completely unmanly to cut hair for a living, however it IS completely unmanly to not MAKE a living. A job is a job. It pays well, the competition is low, it's a job that can't be outsourced to India, and there are a LOT of attractive women who grace my chair on a regular basis - how is any of that a bad thing?

I am a male hair dresser. I am not gay. I work in a fairly large salon. There are 6 other male hairdressers 4 are gay.
so 50/50. All day working with beautiful women. Most of my
buddies are jealous when they com to the salon and see all the

Nah, im a straight male hairstylist. I just got my cosmetology license like a month ago. But i've been cutting with clippers since i was 12 yrs old and now im 19 so when i went to school for barbering to finally do it li\egally i heard that cosmetology and barbering were the same hrs. so i thought about it and i was like wow ima b in a class room for 1200 hrs with a bunch of guys just doing something i've been duin since i was 12. so i said to my self might as well and go to cosmetology i learn more and spent time wit some beautiful lady's. And now i hate duing guys hair cus is just boring alredi and u meet sooo many diffrent gurls is not even funnyy. so there u go im one of that 1% straight male hairstylist.!

Do you know something that sounds REALLY odd. All of the hairstylist that claim to be straight in this forum all seem to defend the rationalization that they pursued the field of cosmetology so they could meet beautiful ladies. Newsflash! Not all women that are in the cosmetology field are attractive! Newsflash #2! Not all women are going to be comfortable dating a guy who claims to be straight and is a Cosmetologist. If one is a Cosmetologist and is truly "heterosexual" his sexual orientation should be self-evident and not self-proclaimed.
