I guess a lot of whether this outcome 'happens' or not, sort of depends on whether those scientists using CERN and other secret colliders, were able to move our time line out of the collision course seen by CHANI's people.

As soon as I saw this information in January I had a strong feeling this year was the year. We are seeing it unfold before our eyes. Unfortunately there wasn't a whole lot said about what to expect on May 15 and thereafter, only the portal opening and darkness coming through-- interesting enough. The prediction of the large planetary body arriving is also intriguing. April and May will tel the tale!
