What they will never ever tell you is that the lung cancers in smokers were caused by the very leaky uranium gas diffusion plant at Oak Ridge upwind of the tobacco growing region of the Carolinas. Smokers didn't get many lung cancers before that thing started up in the early 40s. Smokers of tobacco grown in other regions of the world don't get many lung cancers.

Then how come smokers can't run for shit. All of my friends smoke. Anytime they come to my apartment which is only on the 3 rd floor they are all out of wind by the time the get to my door. I on the other hand have no problems what so ever.
I guess you hang around whith some pretty weak smokers then.. lol cus I smoke and run 3 miles almost every day on my treadmill.
I also walk faster than anyone in any group I am in.. always being told to slow down. Never had any issues with stairs and I am in my late 30s

The US Surgeon General's Report regarding smoking was INCONCLUSIVE... making only some "ASSUMPTIONS" and "CORRELATIONS" but nowhere in the study... and if you read the entire 200+ page document... you will NOT read anywhere where there are definitive statements such as "SMOKING CAUSES X-DISEASE" They couldn't make the claim that smoking is a CAUSATIVE FACTOR in disease.... because they could not reproduce disease under strict lab conditions repeatedly.... therefore... the best the study could do was "LINK" smoking POSSIBLY to diseases....
The words on the sides of commercial cigarette boxes (which are crap anyway... I roll my own) are there as propaganda... not as medical science....

Smoking so far has had less of a negative effect on my health then some places I worked,where I had to breath in what ever crap was in the air.Dirt,toxic dust,toxic smoke,strong fumes from robotic welders.I turned pale every time I had to work at this certain big ass robotic welder.The government has no right to pretend they care about my health when they are allowing others to kill me

Okay here's the thing. I don't know much about the tobacco plant itself, but I could be willing to say that the tobacco plant itself is fine, but that is not the bad part about cigarettes and cigars, it is all of the smoke, and even if you think you are blowing all of the smoke out, you are not, that does get into the lungs. Certainly, air-pollution is a horrible thing and is making people sick also, but can we really say that ingesting smoke into our bodies is so incredibly safe ? The tobacco itself is fine, and could even be medicial, but combined with all of the additives in cigarettes and the smoke that you breath in, it's obviously not a healthy choice. My grandparents whom have smoked for 60+ years never got cancer before, but they did have nagging coughs, and they lived far away from any industrial area. If you lead a healthy life aside from smoking, you might not get any ailments from the smoking, so it just depends on many different factors, but what about breathing-in smoke is good for anybody ? Maybe we should be eating the tobacco plants and smoking them if they do indeed exhibit medicial properties.
I do give credit to the claim that smokers skin appears to age / wrinkle moreso than non-smokers.
And I wouldn't say that I think smoking is completely safe either. I've smoked for well over 20 years, and I haven't got physically less able, tubby and bald yet, like many of my peers have. My friend is going for major surgery and she smoked since the age of 13 and was told she had to quit. She never quit and lied to the doc that she quit. She went for all the exams and was told by the doc that he was surprised by how her lungs looked, lol.
Take another shot at trying to use the lungs of a smoker and those of non-smokers, those non smokers breathe in the toxic in the air and that toxic just loves sticking to unprotected lungs.

Yup, the leaves grew perfectly no slug holes or insect bites. Also it was used as a sheep dip to kill parasites, & lice probably makes a bloody good hair shampoo also lol!
I still have one plant growing from last season, looks like its starting to bush out again, have just started germinating this coming seasons crop, it has pretty little pink and white trumpet like flowers.
Curing it takes time though, 6 weeks plus, from green to golden brown, but its a satisfying ritual, a friend brushes his cured leaves with JD before he compresses it, then puts a blow torch on it before shredding.

Being fat is easily just as dangerous. Smokers have to pay about 60 dollars extra each month in taxes. I say charge the fat people one dollar per pound that they are overweight and charge them this each month. They should also be required to wear warning labels on their big butts at least one day per month.....for the benefit of the children.
